I switched from high dust stock pads to the EBC red stuff years ago on my 135i. Very little dust with the red stuffs, but not as much pad bite either. The red stuffs are easy on rotors too.

I was going to say that the red stuffs are not the best for stopping (maybe why dust is less and easier on the rotors). Did you ever try the yellow stuffs? |

So I go through cars a lot, I’ll say without a doubt, you’ll lose money. Even if you lived somewhere with no sales tax, you’d probably lose a bit off MSRP and those markets tend to be a bit softer. No offense to G87 M2 owners, but it is not a limited edition car. And even with my M2 CS, I lost a little bit of money on it. Also are you willing to deal with the hassle of selling to a private party, or are you able to eat even more of a loss selling to a dealer. To summarize, you will absolutely lose money on it, and it sounds like the cons outweigh the pros. What I’d do in your shoes is get a used car that’s already depreciated/found its place in the mkt from a private party. Do this AFTER test driving one extensively from Turo on the roads you frequent. I did this with my GT350R essentially; drove a friends GT350 for a week, then purchased my own. Still own and love that car today.

I'm not saying this to make myself feel better about my purchase, but I had a random encounter with a school bus driver who also said he was a dealer. He came up to my car, ran my VIN on his phone and asked me how much I got it for. I said MSRP $68.5k and then he asked if I were to sell it? He showed me on his mobile phone that it's currently going for $90k. The app looked something similar to bumper.com but I couldn't confirm. He said I made a good purchase. Maybe that is the going price now in the DC area but I'm not looking to sell my car anytime soon.

Yes. And if you have lots of traffic around like me, it gets tiresome.

You really think it is that simple to sell and break even with added delivery and closing costs (car price, dealer fees, TT&T plus any upgrades (tint, ppf, etc)) and out of pockets and financing fees, if any? |

That you are not just canceling the deal to buy another brand of vehicle but to switch to another BMW I think the sales manager might accomodate you. I don't think the dealer would have that much trouble selling the M2. |

Otherwise, yep...even more so for the minority buying at MSRP. There's a little bit of doom & gloom in these threads and imo it's not the same as buying some readily available sports car. |

As an F87 M2 owner, I can assure you that you will want the car and will keep the car. The M2 (and I'm assuming about the G87 here) is a tremendous car.

No - I could have walked away and got my deposit without an issue. I kept my X3 and bought the M2. Looked better in person, sounded great and was fun to drive. A bit overwhelming with all the new setups and options in I drive 8 versus 6. Hope I enjoy it over time
