It's really funny how you can see people on the BMW forums from the Golf/Audi forums. I "know" at least 5 members here from prior cars we owned at the same time frames.

It absolutely is, as long as you don't need a manual. That 5-cyl rips!
TBH, there are very very few cars that I think are "bad." Really, IMO, the only car that lacks a reason to exist is the Nissan Z. It's basically a 20 year old powertrain with a new coat of paint, and it costs too much for what it is. As a Z lover for many decades, it saddens me that Nissan is basically falling apart now. |

Was the straight pipes 25 review on winter run flats? Could that account for the harsher ride?

BMW Canada doesn’t have a winter runflat fit for the G87, conventional winter tyres only. Can’t see a press vehicle being fitted with something BMW doesn’t have available. Who knows what tyre pressure they were using, though.

An automatic when you’re a true car fan is never the answer. I would take the shittiest manual in the world over just sitting there like an idiot simply pressing my foot down on the gas and thinking I’m doing a good job or anything impressive. Plus your acting like SSK’s don’t exist. |

One of the stupidest posts I’ve read in a while. Only a “true can fan” drives a manual? Continue “impressing” yourself as you row your gears. Hopefully you’re impressed with yourself with every single motion. You should record yourself so you can continue to be impressed even when you’re not driving. Truly impressive. ![]()

Do you think you will post better lap times with the manual or the automatic? With rwd or xdrive? With the obnoxiously loud exhaust or with the stock exhaust? The chrono will be the truth teller of who is an actual fan and enjoys driving or those that like to pretend. |

Wow had no idea there was a manual vs auto fight around here lol. I originally joined because I was buying an M240i but things happened and now I'm getting the M2. Did not see this over there (for obvious reasons)
Maybe we need a new rule. Along with no political talk, no manual/auto talk ![]() Obviously I'm joking. Enjoy whatever you bought. |

I would easily go back to the M240i if there are tariff issues. However, that is assembled in Mexico as well, so no dice there. Not sure what my backup would be. Maybe just wait and save up for something else like Porsche. Originally my backup was the Corvette C8 but the wife absolutely hates how low it is - getting in/out. |

I have zero issues with the MT. The gearing is a little tall once you get out of 1st gear but I still would rather have this MT than the 8ZF. I won't denegrate anyone who chose the ZF tranny. If its what you wanted great. The fact that you can still get a choice of a transmission in this class of a vehicle is a blessing.
