In a steel cage built by Zunsport? Not sure it can handle the blows they would be throwing….you’d need to build the cage out of Mishimoto aluminum, clearly.

In all seriousness had my car at a track day and 2 instructors drove it different parts of the day (one was there for the morning, and the other for the afternoon). They didn’t commiserate about my car. Both mentioned separately how the car (MT) would get bogged down out of certain turns and seemed lacking on the low end so to just keep it revved up as much as possible. This is exactly what I think the Throttle House guys were talking about with the 6MT, and maybe something BMW is addressing with the +20 HP. I don’t think this HP bump will substantially affect the MT in terms of feel, but it likely will the 8AT. I think BMWs tune is very conservative down low on these things to prevent people “mustanging” out of cars and coffee into sidewalks and medians…etc. It is plenty fast for me, and I agree more with Chris Harris in that this is a fantastic and very comfortable sporty daily driver (that you can take to the track).

The spec of the 353kW/473bhp S58 is no different than the 338kW/453bhp version below 5,870RPM, as the torque plateau start RPM and torque value for the manual have not changed. Power output is directly related to torque at a given RPM.

Any idea when the +37ft lbs comes on?

The press release gave the torque plateau as 550Nm from 2,650RPM (same as before) to 6,130RPM (https//www.press.bmwgroup.com/canada/article/attachment/T0443109EN/617998)

We therefore know the specified power output from 2,650RPM (153kW) and any RPM to 6,130RPM (353KW) and again at 6,250RPM (353kW).

Which proves nothing.
The discussion is over from my end.

Arguing with stupid people is wasted energy.
They’ll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
