32 Married and 1 Kid
Currently daily drive a Audi TTRS Roadster 8S and the Wife has our Audi RS4 B9. Had various BMWs over the years with my last one being a E92 M3. The M240I will be my first BMW for a while and looking forward to jumping back in one considering I've been on the dark side of Audi for a few years now. |

52, married, 2 kids in early 20's, first BMW, giving my 2017 GTI to youngest kid to bring to college.. the m240i will be my daily driver.. which is ironic, as i've been working from home for the last 2 years, and have been given the option to remain remote permanently.. to which my wife often wonders why i need a 57K car when i don't have to go anywhere...

age 73, single, current ride is a 2016 GTI, Manual tranny
I needed something "funner" as i just sold my: 1955 Chevrolet Belair, LS3 510HP, 5 speed manual. Just about didn't go for the M240x as i wanted a manual, I'm too old to learn how to drive these new fangled automatics. ![]() the M240 will be a daily driver to replace the GTI. |

Interesting responses
40, married, 2 kids 4 and 11 yo Wife traded in her 5yo Honda civic to an X3 I enjoyed it so much I decided to consolidate my weekend car with my daily driver and get an M240. Sold my E46 M3 and will trade in my Honda Accord. It's a great time to trade! When else a dealership is going to offer me $6k over the actual price I bought the Honda 😅 |

42 with 2 kids, newborn & 4 year old. Been thru few M cars past 9 years.
Sold my M2c during Covid and been using 2 Teslas. However we plan on getting rid of the Model S soon and missing a rwd coupe for daily use. From all the reviews I think I'll be content with the m240i xdrive even though I always loved driving the rwd M cars during the crazy winters we experience here. Especially the fact that this vehicle now comes with the M diff. The back seat space being less than previous gen is a concern and the gas tank being even smaller than before. Nonetheless the options out there in this segment is too few to be picky so hoping to jump into one by summer. |

Hi all. My first post here. I'm 69, married, no children. This is my first BMW after having owned a long string of Camaros, Mustangs, and Mazdas among others through the years. Took delivery of our M240i yesterday. It's Brooklyn Gray with Black Sensatech, Premium, Shadowline, 792 wheels with summer tires, and Remote start. Car was ordered Nov. 15 and reached the dealer Monday. I'm looking forward to learning all things BMW here but promise to

56, married 32 years, 2 kids 22 and 24, now independent.
Owned various BMW's and Audi's for the last 20 years. Wife has a 2018 X1. Drove a 2016 M235 for 2 years...my son won it at E3 in LA...but he already had a well-kept E61 550i at the time so he sold it to me. Sold it back to him in 2018 and snagged a new Fiesta ST. Don't see many dudes my age driving those. Just ordered my 240 for May delivery to replace the ST. |

41, married 19 years, 4 kids, 18f|12m|5f|3m. Had my last car around 11 years (Infiniti M37x) wife said I could get whatever I wanted regardless of seat and door quantity. Oh.. let the games begin...
I started early 2020 with the idea I was going to keep the M37x for longer and get a 2017+ Mercedes SL550 with Active Body Control. I really wanted a hard top convertible. I looked for awhile but prices were insane on the used ones.. I then discovered the C8 and it was actually in my price range new -- that is if you can find a dealer doing MSRP -- I could not. I ran into a few additional issues with my current car and decided to drop the weekend car idea and get my daily driver replaced. I will revisit the hard top convertible in 3 years once this is paid off. I then spent the last 6+ months test driving everything I could. I had decided that what I wanted was a BMW M550i. Again.. back to the fair pricing problem... BMW changed things in 2020 so I would not want less than a 2020 but the 2020+ are going for insane prices and I simply cannot justify the price of a new one. I then decided used was not an option right now given my requirements of being "nearly new" so I decided to go new. I couldn't wait on an M3 and prices for available ones are quite a bit over MSRP which was already at the top end of what I wanted to spend. This led me to M240i or AMG C43 or M340i. The 2021 AMG C I tested was nice.. but I felt it lacked low end power. It was just missing something.. what I do not know.. but at that price range it was certainly something. I tested a 2019 M340i and while it was nice it did not put a smile on my face while driving it. The only car that actually really put a smile on my face was the Macan S -- but with questionable reliability and holding its value I couldn't fork out that kind of money for something that will be my daily. During all this I kept coming back to the M240, reading about it, building it out.. etc.. I eventually decided to trust my gut and even though I have never sat in nor driven a 2 series before I put in my order for one. Worst case scenario I don't like it and walk away.. but I very seriously doubt that will be the case. I really feel that I have made the best most absolute informed decision in my entire car purchasing history. Previous cars: Mustang GT (first car at 15), Eclipse GSX Spyder, 3000GT VR4, RSX Type-S, TL Type-S, Mazda RX8, Infiniti M37x, and now will be a BMW M240i. Bought the wife a Navigator L to carry the kids around in and tow the UTV. |
