Well, what state are you in and what was the agreement when putting the deposit down?

I still highly doubt they’ll keep your deposit.

I would bet this dudes deposit they wouldn’t have let him test drive a brand new M2 anyway. And this dude based on attitude would have redlined the car pre break in during the test drive, or would just assume his BRZ is better because he couldn’t actually rev it out. Nothing OP said makes sense for anybody who actually understands cars, BMW break in, the business, or honestly general logic. Pretty happy he won’t be posting here all the time.

That all said, I’d actually be down to own both. Similar driving dynamic but BRZs are a blast simply because you can drive a slow car fast. I can’t find many places to rev my G87 out at legal speeds past 2nd gear lmao

You couldnt be giving off I'm in debt up to my eyeballs but I make a somewhat decent salary vibes any harder.

Given what we know so far:

Surgeon, just in their fellowship or first year, but has 1-2M in student loans. They didnt actually see a child die but one did die on their floor a few months ago. "Drives" a subaru but I put drives in quotations because he spends 90hrs a week being an errand boy for the real surgeons and hitting on nurses in the lounge. Decided to get a BMW so he could brag to people on the floor about it, but all the nurses and PA's just roll their eyes at him because they know the BMW is actually just a bad financial decision.

Claims to have owned an R8 gated manual which is a wild card... im gonna go with "it was my car but my dad technically owned it"
It’s getting hot in here

When I bought the R8 back in 2018, that was my true dream car for a long time I never test drove it. The dealer wouldn’t allow me to test drive but that was understandable because it was $100,000 perfectly SPEC’d low mileage car.
The R8 was an exotic car, and in a different class from an M2. I would fully expect a bmw dealer to allow me to evaluate it thoroughly before making a purchase.
You can tell a lot from a vehicle from a simple 5-7 mile test drive. I have been able to eval all my other sports car purchases with a test drive. EXCEPT There was the time I drunkenly bought a 69 Corvette stingray at auction without power steering, and my arms are in pretty good shape now from driving that. amazing clutch feel on that transmission btw.
not reading that essay.

Why do you assume test driving all those used cars is the same thing as getting a dealer to let you test drive a brand new one that has specific rules about break in RPMs? If you go above 4500RPM on a test drive, don’t buy it, and then that engine blows the dealer / BMW are on the hook for repairs.

Also why are you still here begging for attention and sharing your life story if the BMW forums are so toxic? You just seem like you’re lonely and looking for attention like the annoying kid in elementary school.

Saved a lot of money triggering all you wankers 🤓

So many ppl rolled their eyes when I told them I ordered a bmw. Now it all makes sense. The douchery from the dealers I visited to this forum is just effervescent
Don't know how old you are (mentally approx. 17 I would guess), but you can learn a lot about a person by how they react when they are in the wrong about something.

The right response is to acknowledge, learn, adjust accordingly, and move on. The wrong response is to double down and become combative.

I recently ended a very long friendship with someone. Not because they wronged me, but because of how they reacted when I brought it up. They doubled down and refused to acknowledge facts or be logical & objective about the situation. This person has done the same with another friend, so now he's -2 as far as his social circle goes. No one needs people like that in their life. They'll ultimately find themselves alone or surrounded by phonies.

You have a spouse. One day, you might say or do something wrong while on one of these vacations that you deserve so much. Are you going to double down and risk throwing away the foundation of your relationship? Or are you going to man up?

Well, most of the thread is quoted and screenshotted. I almost saved the entire page when I screenshotted the juicy part because I figured this person would realize eventually what a phenomenally stupid post they made

Hope that you're right and we were being Punk'd, because if not, the OP's grievance mentality is going to make life very hard for them.

The OP presents as an "always the victim" sort, zero perspective.

First, the dealer as the villain, they were the victim.

Everyone else recognized the reality that the OP was the one operating in bad faith, not the dealer.

When feedback wasn't what they wanted to hear, BIMMERPOST members became the villain, and the OP was the victim.

Perpetual victims always struggle.
