You can keep the car as long as you like, it doesn’t change the fact there is a (monthly) cost of ownership.

kudos is straining at the thought of people paying 6,7,800 pm over 3/4 years on their car, yet he dropped 50k+ in one month. With a depreciating asset, you don’t want to own it!

So I’m taking it that these will still be 230i and M240i and not simply 230 and M240? I know they are dropping the “I”, but for G42 that may be MY26?

I bought a 430i coupe in 2018, M2 competition in 2020, Mini SE in 2022 and M240i in 2024 (I have yet to receive this)
The 430i had 0 percent interest, the M2 comp and mini SE had 1.99 percent interest and the M240i had 3.99 percent at signing on February 2. Now it is 4.99 percent.
I just want to say that I bought the 430i entirely on credit because it didn't cost me anything more
Now I pay about €6000 extra over 5 years with a first payment of €21000

I have a '23 that has the sensatec seats with no lumbar. I've always had issues with the steering wheel not extending out enough to the point where my arms are comfortable but also my legs aren't compressed bc I have to bring the seat forward to make my arms comfortable. Are the upgraded leather seats thicker or slightly differently? I feel like a 10 percent change/ a centimeter or 2 would make a huge difference to me in comfort. Does anyone think any of the seat changes will make a difference

You can also bring the steering wheel closer to you.
Then you don't have to move your seat.

The adjustment for correct arm reach should be made by adjusting the rake of the seat.

I’ve tried a lot of different positions and nothing has been superbly comfortable for me. Doable, yes but definitely FOR ME the least comfortable car I’ve had.
I’ve daily driven 2003 Mercedes c class, 2017 chevy impala, and Alfa giulia. Giulia had best combo of low seating position, steering wheel adjustability and visibility over the dash with seating comfort. It’s not something I usually complain about ever, that’s why I’m curious about the upgraded leather seats . I really like the car, would love the M2 in a few years but I’m not dropping that coin for something that is only marginally comfortable.

Learned a couple things about US spec 2025 models today from the dealer. They are now able to configure and price vehicles as of this week. Some surprises to me were:

1. The wheel options were all N/C except for the ones included in the high performance cooling kit.
2. You could order most wheel options as square all season with run-flat or staggered summer non run-flat
3. Lumbar support costs $350
4. Carbon Fiber trim is $800 and you cannot order the M colored trim lights with it
5. Wireless charging is $200
6. M Sport Pro is $400
7. Parking assist package is $700
8. Premium package is $1950
9. Vegas red is a $650 color
10. HK is $875
11. Destination is $1175
12. Base price is $51,200
13. If you want side bolsters you will need to order leather seats, which are now limited to black, black w/blue stitching, black w/red accents or oyster. Tacora is now only available in SensaTec

No big surprises, but expected that I would have been able to order carbon fiber and M LED trim lights. I was disappointed to see you can only get leather in varying black or oyster. I made it a requirement to have adjustable side bolsters and wanted another option besides black or oyster seats. I went ahead and got a 24 that was in stock to get the Tacora Red leather and saved some some money $3k below what the 2025 would have cost me (price and negotiating).

On the Belgian configurator you can use carbon fiber with the M colors.
The colors are only in the doors.
The M colors can be used with standard aluminium or carbon fiber.

What’s the difference if you pay that 50k over like 3 years but with high interests, ends up being more. I don’t think I’ll buy a car that I don’t have the cash for. If I don’t even have 50k, maybe the car is too expensive. Unless your monthly is like some insane amount or the interest is ridiculously low.

Is the new flat bottomed steering wheel any thinner than the previous M steering wheel?

I think the thickness is the same. The sticksel is now in the M colors and looks nice.

I saw a 2025 4 Series in the BMW showroom this morning with the carbon fiber trim. I don't mind the look of the updated dash trim and vents, it looks decent. Not sure if I like the 2024 or 2025 more, though. I'd say the 2024 dash has a more interesting design, the 2025 feels more subtle and subdued, especially with the CF trim that blends in with the dash. As for the wheel, I think I like the redesign. I don't like the horn, it's like the 2024 where they took away the stitched leather looking horn, it just looks cheap. The open spoke at the bottom looks neat.

Did you get prices on the Shadowline options or is that part of the M Sport Pro package now? On the UK configurator, it's part of M Sport Pro.

Shadowline was included in the M Sport Pro option on the US build link that the dealer had.

Interesting. If I take the base price of the 2025 230ix, add up all the options I want it only comes out to like $48K whereas with a 2024 it's about $51K. That can't be right.

For me the only update in the LCI I wish I had on mine would be the steering wheel. Blue stitching matches the seats very well.

wonder if they are compatible... Might be something I change down the road

Keep in mind that I was building a M240 x-drive. The models can affect the option pricing based on what is already included. On the build I considered before buying a 2024, the 2025 was going to cost about $2000 higher. Some of this is available option differences (carbon fiber, etc.) plus the increase in destination charges.

When did the configurator go live last year for the 2024. Getting anxious. 🤪

It is generally not announced when the build site will be released in the USA, but I would expect to see it in August when production goes live. If you want to build a spec before then you can visit your dealer to have one built. The UK site is up and running now, just note that not all options and packages will be the same.
