Anyone have any front lips painted to match? There’s one in another thread that has a purple wrap but was curious if there were pictures of others in a standard color (besides BSM obviously).

Maxton v1

The instructions for the lip are generic, not car-specific.

And they are back ordered. I placed my order over a month ago, and still have no update on when it will be produced and delivered.

Not impressed with their communications.

I ordered it through their Canadian dealer back in Feb 28th and their estimate ship date is June 20th. Probably getting closer to July so I cancelled the order and moved on.

Is it me or is there a gap between the lip and where it meets under the side air inlets? The center portion looks flush but the sides don’t but could be my eyes.

Finally got the Maxton lip.

It's a shell, with nothing on the underside. At speed, this will be completely un-aerodynamic.

Wish they would have revealed this BEFORE I ordered and waited 3 months for it.

Here's what it looks like on the bottom.

Yea it’s basicallly for looks only, not for aero. Although I’d be willing to bet that 90% of the lips in the market don’t really offer much in terms of aero anyways.

I hear ya on the disappointment. I’ve had mine since December and still haven’t installed it for basically the same reason. But without any other reasonably priced options, I may go ahead and install it soon.

Has anyone come up with a solution to this? AutoID doesn't yet seem to have made a minimalistic gloss black option and I really don't think going CF for such an easily damaged part is a good idea.

Also, has anyone tried the IND painted front bumper in black sapphire metallic? It seems a good aesthetic alternative to the splitter, but I can't find any pictures in BSM.

I don’t see how that is, in any way, an alternative to a front lip.

Apples and oranges.

I'm looking for something to tie the front together, as I don't like the 'unfinished' look of the bottom of the bumper. Given the questionable aerodynamic effect of most aftermarket splitters, to me a 'finished' looking bumper would serve the same purpose. I just don't like the overly aggressive look of most splitters, and the Alpha-N CF one seems too expensive to me...

Even through the wrap, I can see the lip on the G87 M2 CS is the look I’m gunning for. Problem is I don’t feel like waiting over a year to get this lip when it becomes available after the CS is released, I don’t get why manufacturers other than Alpha-N aren’t making something like this. At this rate, I’m probably gonna cave and end up getting the CT Carbon lip since it’s fairly close to the look I want.

Maxton v2. It’s aggressive and pretty low but the price is right and fitment good and I’m not too worried about an occasional scrape on driveway or speedbump

Thanks for someone finally posting some pics of the Maxton stuff. Looks good installed.

Did you have to drill 100 holes into your bumper and rocker panels? I haven't been able to figure out exactly how these attach other than basically just like putting up drywall

No drilling…Just a bunch of self tapping screws spaced out, I think 10 in each. Got them started with an impact driver and finished by hand with a really stubby Philips head screwdriver. No lift, just on the ground. Not a lot of room because my car is lowered on KW HAS as well. I’ve done the same on a couple of STis and they held fine for years.

Another maxton lip. I love the way it looks, but it’s definitely low!

Front lip, side skirts, and custom rear spoiler which is the extended version of the MP Style. I had the spoiler paint matched to be a little different. OEM fitment on front lip, no drilling. Everything from Unit17autostyling.

Looks great! I still think the front splitters and side skirts are too expensive. Hopefully they'll come down in price or these vendors will start offering gloss black or unpainted versions.

I really like the rear spoiler painted to match. Any issue painting glossy carbon fiber & what was the cost?
