I changed the upper and lower ambient lights to red and cyan. You can code it with bimmercode and a OBD2 adapter. However, it's currently locked out of iDrive 8.5, but there is a workaround. I have a complete write up in this thread:
This is how to trick Bimmercode into coding Ambient Lighting in iDrive 8.5 If you are not familiar with bimmercode, theres a bunch of other stuff you can code as well, like active sound design, window cutoff when the door opens, etc.. I also coded it in all red:
