By Light and By Dark, Vol. 2 | Stealth Black G87 M2 | TRE & MHC+ carbon fibre exterio

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
My G87 M2 progression continues.

This car continues to be such a joy to modify, walk toward/glance back at, and drive. With a few new exterior carbon pieces, everything exterior-wise is pretty well dialled in.

Original thread pre-carbon pieces here - https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2113694

I posted a review of the MHC+ Edition 1 kit here - https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2128981

Long story short, I couldn't be happier with the quality, fitment, and appearance of the kit. It is not inexpensive, but I feel like I truly got what I paid for with it.

Exterior appearance parts summary:
  • OEM 827M wheels, satin black
  • 18mm/15mm spacers
  • Black painted roundels
  • Reflector deletes
  • KW HAS kit
  • TRE CS rear trunk lip spoiler
  • MHC+ Edition 1 exterior carbon fibre kit (diffuser, spats, side skirts, front lip spoiler)

Raw photos of this car make me want to dial everything down, suck some light out, and add some grit. I love the presence this car has in person.

Photos shot on a Fujifilm X-H2 (lenses: 200mm F/2, 8-16mm F/2.8, and 56mm F/1.2) and Leica Q3 (Summilux 28m f/1.7).

Full mod list is in the next post below.

Thanks for checking out my car, and apologies for sucking some serious bandwidth with all the photos. I find it interesting how light and perspective really change how this car looks - can't get enough! I'm biased, but I don't think the G87 has a bad angle!

Thanks, man.

I have the Eisenmann axleback on order to pair up with my AA single MP. The Eisenmann sounds aggressive, but I also went with it for that exact reason - the calf udder tucks up under the diffuser. I was going to High Temp POR-15 the OEM exhaust can, but figured I'd just waste more money on a German-made exhaust. $15 in material and time versus a few grand .

Very nice! I'd tint the bottom clear par of the rear lights leaving only red part out.

Beautiful car. The project budget is probably eye opening. But the results are phenomenal. Congratulations!

Nice shots! 200mm is a great focal length for car pics.

Thanks! And it is, except it is a big reach, especially with an APS-C sensor (equivalent to 300mm full frame). So it needs a big, wide open space to get the whole car in frame. But it's my favourite lens by far.

Thanks, man. Cumulatively, it's appalling. But 'little' orders here and there makes the pain a bit less .

Agreed, except Cup 2's with spacers pushing the wheels right to the edge of the fenders makes for major rock shrapnel being kicked up at the doors and rear quarters. They're flat black so as blended as possible, but definitely a function over form thing for the flaps.

I love it! Darker colors definitely suit the G87 M2 well.

I think the only thing I personally would do is throw some Yellow DRLS on the headlights!

No modification. And likewise, I get a bit of rubbing over speed bumps. Doesn't bother me enough to do anything about it at this point. The front inner fender rubbing at full lock in reverse... that's a different story . Need to get that sorted.

Thank you! And yeah, I debated the yellow DRL's. I was close to pulling the trigger but what held me back is it'd be a pretty big deviation from the monochrome theme. If I get tired of the satin black everything and change the wheels at some point in the future, I think that'll be the time to do the DRL's.
