Wasn't the 3.0 CSL supposed to have a transaxle gearbox like the M4 GT3? I doubt anything put in there will trickle down. Last edited by mbanck; 10-09-2022 at 03:42 AM.. |

I think Ill keep my two R34 GTRs especially my 23,000km VSPEC and some of my old muscle cars, I've had my 1978 Corvette for almost 20years, so I'll probably hold onto that one aswell.

What I'd like to see is a CS/CSL where they keep the manual and add no additional HP/TQ, and just focus exclusively on weight reduction: (As many carbon body panels as possible, no back seats, manual seats, cloth upholstery, no comfort access, no HUD, CCBs, Forged wheels, lightweight glass). If that car is around $110k-$120k with the focus on driving experience over cost, I'm definitely a buyer. BMW doesn't need to compete with Porsche (unlike what 90% of the people on BP think). Just make good BMWs. |

It's pretty legendary but was never seen or used again. I wouldn't be surprised at all if 3.0 CSL had a extremely limited run for its manual transmission - past is prelude. They'll be releasing 50 cars… see above.

The more I think of it, it seems they are stuck at 406 lb-ft for the MT which is carried over from the F gen cars. I see nothing to indicate that's going to change, at least for now. |

That said, sometimes I want to scream at my screen with all the things people are floating around, just want to say... you know they don't give a shit about this car. Literally everything off it was handed down from the G80/2 and all they did was the absolute minimum tuning to make it work on a smaller chassis. WTF makes you think they are going to spend anything on development for this car! But then I have some breakfast and simma down. |

If we're turning this thread into a CSL wish list, then I want a true CSL, not a money grab. I mean the L should be an L. 3300 lbs with 473 hp and a 6 speed, sounds like heaven to me. Besides, BMW under rates their motor anyway.
I guess one more thing to wish for, can it not look like shit, please?

Yes, and the known two ways to have BMW continue to sell MT is to keep pointing out that ZF8 is just a pedestrian transmission - that you are getting a ripoff compared to F8x - and not purchasing the auto variant altogether; it's not even about bringing back M-DCT at this point.
People bitched about 4 cylinders in 718 and spoke with their wallet, so they brought the 6 cylinder NA engines back. Same with the manual transmission availability of 991.2 GT3s.
