So I’m finally in a position in my life where I can order a new M2 and I’ve driven several already. Love the way it drives, not in love with how it looks. I do looooove the look of the regular 2 series. However M240i is only available in X-Drive here in the UK and I want pure RWD.

QUESTION:
It would be a saving grace for the M2 if we got it in a purple eventually or at least some nicer colours. I’ve seen the odd rumour of new colours for next year but do we have any solid info on what those colours might it be or when they will be revealed?

Not interested in the frozen colours that have just popped up and the latest I’ve read on this was from a few posts a few months back from a well known BMW website.

Sidenote, my new job that has allowed me to purchase such an awesome machine is based in the Netherlands and my first week will be in Zandvoort for the Grand Prix so I’m tempted to go Zandvoort Blue from a sentimental point of view even though I don’t love or hate the colour. Thundernight forever!

Edit: Also I did state in my post that I’m not interested in the frozen colours.

Sorry, I misread your question. Just re-read it.

Is this it?

Thanks
They’re referencing the same BMW blog post I was on about I guess I was just looking for an update with more solid info rather than rumours.

Looks like I’ll either have to be more patient or accept the ZB

Other than the two frozen colors already announced, the answer is emphatically NO.

We have no SOLID info on what colors, nor when. Sorry.

It’s at least 1 year away from start of production. It’ll likely be an LCI at that point if you wait to order it with the new colour. It depends on what you want. Current colours are great, albeit limited.

May I suggest a Toronto Red, sir? With fries or salad on the side?

Yeah thought so, I’m looking at ordering a car soon and collecting early/mid next year. If they release a purple just after I get mine I will be devestated.

It’s funny I realllly want to like Toronto a red and it looks great in pictures. However I’ve driven one and it just didn’t pop quite as much in real life. Maybe just the lighting and the day.

What’s even more funny is I hate Zandvoort blue in pictures but when I drove one of those I really came around to the colour in real life.

So the complete opposite.

Just seen your garage and your red looks great in the sun, it doesn’t quite have the same effect here on a cold and rainy day in the UK. Red cars don’t really suit us unfortunately.

Everyone loves Thundernight. Unfortunately, BMW are totally unpredictable when it comes to paints. There's just no way to know.

I love my Toronto Red, but if a deep blue (any of them) came out it would hurt me a little, I won't lie.

We can order Frozen Portimao in the UK right now if you’re a deep blue fan.

I’m honestly this close to just accepting the X drive on the M240i just for thundernight.

Or ......

Peelable paint. As long as you plan to PPF, might as well consider this instead. Cheaper, as protective, and you can pick your own color!

I’ve actually looked into this, my dealer (Sytner) offers a peelable spray on paint where they can replicate any colour. However the brochure says you can’t use a jet wash to clean it, so pretty pointless if you ask me. Might look into other brands just in case.

Model year 2025 is probably the next introduction of new colors

You could always order black and wrap it something interesting if you'd like one this year

Yes it does seem that MY25 is gonna be the one. I might just pick up an M240i until then.

I love Portimao, but will never ever get a matte paint. Absolute deal breaker for me.

Hopefully clarity coat becomes more widely available, I was curious about the product but had trouble finding a reputable installer in a reasonable distance from me. I ended up choosing between dynomatte vs dynoprism ppf.

Finding an experienced, competent installer is important. It's like paint ... you wouldn't take your BMW to Maico or ACME paint.

We've got a really good one in Portland.

There’s a São Paulo yellow g87 doing the rounds on utube, it could be a wrap either way it looks good and it makes the m2 look more aggressive and really shows it’s curves.

I can’t understand why bmw picked the current colours, are they saving the best for the final edition ?
