Light click at final release point of the clutch
I have had the car for two weeks less then 400 miles and I started to hear a light 'click' sound only the final point the clutch pedal is released. And it sounds like its coming from inside the car, near the pedal. This happens with the car on or off. And I only really hear it when the clutch is let out slowly. I took the car in to the dealership to have them take a look. They confirmed that the 'click' is there but its not creating any feedback to the pedal nor does it cause any performance issues. In less then 1,000 miles I need to bring the car back for the break-in check up. So they ask just to monitor it and if no change they will take a deeper look at it at that point. Was wondering if anyone has heard of this happing or had this happen? Maybe the car/clutch still needs to get broken in and that's all?

It sounds like you’re having a similar issue to that of which MineralGreyMetallic is having with his G87.
Sounds like a minor loose spring issue. I’d get it checked regardless even if they say it’s a non issue. This should not be happening and is not normal for the car, even during the clutch break process. |

Yes sir, same exact issue. The slower the release, the louder the clicking. It started happening somewhere before 1,000 miles. At about 1,500 miles now it does not seem to be getting better or worse.
I need to reschedule my appointment with the dealership to leave it there for a few days, which is what they requested. I've seen threads in other forums for other BMW models where people have experienced similar issues. If you get it diagnosed or fixed please keep us updated! I'll do the same. Here's the thread I started previously: https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2094764 Last edited by MineralGreyMetallic; 05-28-2024 at 08:42 AM.. Reason: asdf |

Update: Had a few members look at it and said it’s the sensor telling the car the clutch is engaged and it’s normal to make the slight click. I’ll note if it gets worse but everything is functioning as it should.

I don't just get a single click. I often get multiple clicks that vary in volume and are not consistent across engagements of the clutch. It very much sounds like a mechanical component being stressed or de-stressed, like a spring. At this point it might be helpful to start getting some recordings to be sure we're all experiencing the same thing. |

Thanks for posting that mpfardresher
Pretty much what I'm hearing, although mine is a little higher frequency. Probably just the phone's mic changing the sound of it on the recording. I'll try to get a video in the next couple days. Normally this type of thing drives me absolutely crazy. Seeing that it's way more common than I would have expected makes it bother me less. |

I am right there with you. I will add (to your point) the mic on the phone makes it sound a lot louder and bit different then what it actually sounds like. I will still have them take a deeper look into it when i take it in for my break-in check. But honestly its not that bad and like you knowing that its common, really doesn't bug me as much

To be fair, it was not happening on delivery in my case. It only developed a few hundred miles later. You are right, though. Not an acceptable thing to be happening on really any car.
