I still drove the Boxster or the Turbo in the rain though. I *had* to drive one or the other when I was working. But it was with some extra trepidation especially after in May of 2008 when my 2008 Cayman S was hit (and eventually totaled) when another driver lost control of her car in the rain and smashed into my Cayman S.

After my Porsche ownership experience was over with and I moved to driving a Dodge Challenger Scat Pack then a Hellcat I had a MINI Cooper JCW as my "daily" driver and didn't drive my Challengers in the rain.

Currently my M2 is paired with another MINI Cooper JCW which is my daily driver.

I'm not about to try to confirm the M2 Michelin tires will hydroplane but given their width I suspect they will. So while the M2 gets used often it doesn't get used in the rain. And even if the tires were immune to hydroplaning given my experience I see no reason to risk the M2 and drive it in the rain if I don't have to.
Drove through some thundershowers with standing water on the road in a few places at 110km/h (70mph) or so yesterday, no issues or hint of aqua/hydro planing with the Michelins on our car. The car laid down the power well in the wet, although I’m still keeping to the first phase of break-in as the car is just approaching 1000km on the odometer.
