Factory warranty and trade in values

My car is a 2011 e93 M3 with right under 25,000 miles, DCT. My factory warranty expires 8/25/15, so a little over a year left of warranty and prepaid maintenance.

I've been starting to think about a replacement and just test drove an RS5 and S6 today. Anyway, I found a 2013 e92 M3 with 4k on the odometer with DCT, premium sound, Competition package for a very reasonable price.

So my question is this. How valuable is one year of factory warranty and prepaid maintenance and would it positively impact my trade in value or would it not really have an effect?

It doesn't have any value really. If any it's included in the kbb value.

if you're a good negotiator, then you can get a bit more value out of it. Just to let you know, you can cancel the balance of your extended maintenance plan, and get your pro-rated money back for it.

If you want the best value, you should do a private sale, and buy the e92 separately. Dealers make money on your trade, your purchase, finance, and extended coverage. Those are the 4 areas of profit, so by trading it in, you're already giving them a profit on 2 of those areas. (The 4th square has changed over time)

I'm assuming you're financing this purchase too huh? man, I'd love to sell you a car!

Am I missing something here? Your car has one year of warranty left and for some reason this is cause for concern and reason to sell your car?

Nah, probably wants to shed 400 pounds of fat by going to an E92.

It's not like I hate the car. I know what options I wish I would have ordered with the car and this '13 e92 has those options. Also, I hardly ever use the hardtop and is considerably noisier than the coupe.

Even though I just bought my vert, I kind of was having second thoughts and felt maybe I should've just gotten a '13 e92 from the start with all the bells and whistles. At the end of the day if it's going to really eat away at you then make the trade. But if your car's treating you well with no issues, why take a gamble and get something that you don't know the history of? (Why would someone trade it in a few months with 4k on it?)

Or maybe, instead of wasting a bit of money getting a slightly newer car, get some mods for yours!
