The freeze frame says it all. I don't think I would survive the actual clip.

Good info here but I am just not sure they get the intent of the car. If your daily driving a R8 you may not be thinking in line with the "new" M customer. Just saying this M seems to be pointed even more than the last gen to a sub-super car customer.

Yes - sound is not as good as v8
Yes - it doesn't pull to red line like the NA v8
Yes - it's more money than the older used version when is this not true (excluding classics).

But....
Having a quieter in car experience for me is actually a good thing. Daily driver/discrete
I6 offers better gas mileage for regular daily duties
Better emissions - even if you don't care about emissions who wants to pay a guzzler tax?

Ill agree the M3/4 is in a transition and I am sure this sparked some heated debate in dev. I am happy they went in this direction. If I were involved heavily in the e9x series and became attached this would be a hard transition for me. Ill take the changes from e9x to F8x with appreciation.

After all isn't it a good thing to increase mileage lower emissions and cost of operation/tax's while making more power?

Even if your not on board with this iteration of the M series it shows BMW is going to be a leader in innovation and efficiency; that my friend is good news to shareholders and to the enthusiast.

Well it should feel slower...its the R8 V10, not convinced that the R8 of cars is as planted through the corners. I've felt them heavy and understeer a bit when not super heavy on the gas

I just can't take these guys seriously. He seems to be a huge fan of R8 and believes it is THE best car in the world. But each person has their own opinion.

Haha! good that I'm not the only one.

BTW, I have watched your delivery clip twice just because it's so great so see a person excited about something. Best clip on the board, I say.

Next review: M4 versus 458

Everyone should just take this video for what it is, two guys test driving a car comparing it to a $180K VW, very nice VW OR a used Ferrari 430 (please, where do you even start with that equivalency)...and not journalism of any sort.

They couldn't even adjust their own cockpit, clown review.

It does highlight that the M3/4, because of it's flexibility, will get compared to anything and everything.

Sloppy six speed. It sounded like he was shifting a video gamestick.

I haven't watched the video just because I don't want to spoil how it is going to be when I get there on Thursday

I actually saw it on youtube in my "recommended" video list before you had posted it here and thought... hummmmmmmmm.... holding out tho! I bet it's a great feeling.

and to the point of this thread... skipping it. freeze frame.

a rubbish review fraught with hypocrisy.

10:50 - "one of the sales guys asked me how it compared to the R8.... I'm not comparing it to the R8"

yet the commentary was all comparing the M4 to his R8.

Think they have a couple other friends that love the R8 as much as they do? Would make for a great circle jerk.
