Question Heated Rear Seats

What a complete waste of a feature. First of all when are you ever going to put people in the back of your F82, and secondly when are they ever going to need to warm their seat!!! Rarely, are the answers. I wish BMW would have spent that money on ventilating the front seats, a feature that comes standard in a fuken Kia that doesn't even exist at this level in a BMW, you have to go all the way up to a 5-series to get that.

That would be so useful here in TX.

That being said, I take delivery tomorrow and I don't have full leather, but do have the executive package so I will let you know if I have the rear seat heaters.

Maybe you are mistaken but OP and the thread are referring to a f80M3 not a f82M4. Yes I agree with you if BMW put heated rear seats on a f82M4 it would be a waste but on a f80M3 I think its a nice touch IMO. No rear heated seats available in M4 at this time to my knowledge

This sort of pissed me off too - just seems if you have the airflow setup for heated air you would not be adding weight or many parts to include cool air - in TX and may other parts of the BMW world, a ventilated seat is a heck of a lot more useful than a heated seat - had the same issue with the frikkn' neck warmer in the vert - why the hell wouldn't they have both AC and/or heat options on this thing for those of us who live in extreme humidity - brain dead.

Seats aren't cooled in the same manner that they're heated. Heated seats simply have a heating element sewn into them. Ventilated and cooled seats use fans and hvac ducting. So if a seat is set up for one, you're not any closer to having the required components for the other

Well Austin isn't usually extreme humidity, although this summer is more like a Houston summer for us. It's just the dead heat, it's crazy. 100, 110 degrees and that leather is scorching when you are wearing shorts! I mean I am lucky in the sense that my car will never really be parked in the sun at home or at work but it's those weekend days when I go out somewhere and park it in the sun that I am afraid of.
