Moved back to DMV - Wanted to say hi!

Hey all,
I just moved back to the DMV back in May and am still getting sorted but wanted to say hi to everyone! I spent the better part of a decade up in NYC and am looking forward to being able to drive a car regularly again.

Little bit about me.
Live in NoVA back in the early 2000's and was a big car nut back then.

Cars owned in the past:
1994 E36
1999 E46
1995 Mazda RX-7 - My track/fun car - Spent the better part of my nights and weekends for a year doing an LS1 conversion on it. Was an amazing car and there is a little part of me that will always be sad that I sold it.

Currently have a 1994 M5 IS300 that only has koni/eibachs and TRD bushings. Not much you can do in NYC.

As I just graduated grad school and moved down here, Im waiting till spring to pick up a new car. Im looking at getting an E92 M3 at that point and will autox it with some DE here and there.

Cheers!

Definitely though I was not sure if the requirement was that I own a BMW at the time of joining or not. As I just started my new job at the beginning of June, I wanted to wait till spring to get the car.

You don't have to own a BMW to join CCA (unlike PCA where you have to provide a VIN). In fact, we have several PCA and other car club members that join specifically because of all the activities and track events.

Also, one of the biggest benefit is the member rewards program. Rebates of up to $1000 for those who have been a member for a minimum of 1 year (with absolutely no lapse in membership) at the time of purchase. Easily pays for membership and mods

The join section of their website seems to be bugged right now. Will check it out once they have it fixed. Thanks!

Welcome back to the area. I will have to join the BMWCCA again even though I drive a Pcar, because the PCA is to boring.

I was looking at 997's S's prior to the M3. Great cars but the cost of those engines... yikes!

Pcars are great, but if you can't DIY maintenance wise then it is outrageously pricey.

I can DIY, but those parts prices are ridiculous.

I started up grad school and moved to Brooklyn. There was no way I could drive it there without it being beat to death and it was so expensive to garage it. A FD is on my list of cars that I want to restore down the road when I have a garage where I can work on it. I had so much fun doing the LS1 swap that I have no issues doing a long restore down the road.

So far that list is:
3rd Gen RX-7
70's 240z
E30 M3
67 Mustang Fastback

Didnt see the BBQ thread until yesterday. Might be a little late so I didnt want to impose since Im a stranger.
