Seats too tall for wife
Looking at an M4.. but my wife finds the seats horribly uncomfortable. Specifically, she's short enough that her shoulder blades are too low: her shoulders get pressed in by the side bolsters.
So, obviously, Yellow Pages.* (Quick testing makes me think that moving the seat cushion up 3" relative to the seat back would be about perfect) Any suggestions that would be less ... idiotic looking? |

Hit the gym, do some squats, get more back, sit higher. Problem solved.

Look at more cars. They're all cheaper than marital strife. The process is valuable too. It lets her know she's more important than the car. After that she'll likely pick the M4 (or Posche), happily.

(more seriously... are their upholstry shops known in the BMW community? In Corvette Land, Caravaggio does some amazing stuff.)
Also: what do racers do? Those seats don't seem to have any slots for your shoulder belts? Last edited by kilpatds; 08-04-2014 at 07:25 PM.. Reason: added 2nd question |

If it's a 1-car family then yes. If she has her own car then get what you want!

Well you're on the right lines my friend, but what you've got there is something that just goes round. I was referring to a device that actually stretches you, like this....

sometimes i have a codriver thats 6'5" we have an extra sparco seat cushion for us normal height drivers. it gives a good 3" lift. you can get one upholstered in matching leather. thats probably best bet since its designed for adults. i bet a good upholstery shop can make something custom for you. too bad the side bolsters are not adjustable.

How tall is your wife if you don't mind me asking? I'm concerned about the same thing but haven't had the opportunity for the wife try the seats on at the dealership before I order the car.
