Maryland Front Tag law

From the mouth of an Anne Arundel County police officer........October 1st is when I was told that the newly passed law stating that if your car was not manufactured in such a way to mount a front tag without altering, or drilling into your vehidle you will no longer be required to have one. You will still have to have it in the car though.

This is great news. I haven't heard any updates in a while about the law passing. Good thing because I refuse to put one on any of my cars.

False. The MD Law was never passed. I think it died somewhere along the process.

i had heard it did not pass last year, but this year it did. I'd like to see hard evidence also.

I've been pulled over twice and showed the officer and I've been fine. Also used it for DC parking tickets where I was ticketed for not having a front license plate and the ticket thrown out.

That's a bill, a proposed change to the law. Front tag law in MD did NOT change.

But, it's good to know that cops don't know the difference

I was told by a Police officer that they had received emails alerting them that this change goes into effect on Oct the 1st. Everyone do what you like, but I'm going to go with what I was told by the Police.
