Best Air Compressor/Tire Repair Kit for Non-RFs.

What air compressor and tire repair kits are you all using when you elect to use non-run flat tires?

Here is one made by Slime.

Here's what I use, except I don't use the tire sealant in the mobility kit. Too much of a mess and I don't want to risk damage to the wheels sensors. The Dynaplug Pro kit is amazing and it's really easy to use. Best of all it works

Thanks for the info and links.

I didn't know BMW had an oem air compressor. What is the quality of the compressor? Is it fairly quiet?

The BMW tire sealant is latex and they say it will just wash off. Is there still risk to the tire or tmps sensor? If I have a plug kit will there ever be a need to use the tire sealant?

If under any circumstances, the latex sealer will not be used, then how do you think this compressor looks: it is tiny, runs cool via a fan and has a very accurate and easy to read psi tire gauge.

How do you think the Dynaplug compressor compares to the BMW oem compressor?

Which Dynaplug tool did you get? Did you get plastic, the stainless steel or the feather light aluminum? The Extreme looks good with its wide handle base.

Thanks

I carry - but have not had to use - the continental kit.

Have had 3 plugs in my real tires and it has been great to get them fixed, not replaced :-)

I have the Dynaplug Pro which has the all metal body. The kit works great. I haven't used on my tires, but I've helped friends with theirs. I wouldn't worry too much about the loudness of the compressor. As long as it inflates the tire efficiently. If I plugged my tires with this kit, I'd still go to the tire shop and have the tire patched from the inside. I wouldn't look at the sealant or the plug as a permanent repair.

BMW says you cannot plug or patch RF tires, is this true?
I personally think this is BS so the consumer has to buy a new tire.

I know you don't want to drive on a patched tire for years-on-end because water will rust out the belts and degrade the tire. But I am not too worried, I have yet to get much more than a year out of a set of tires.

Rep. kit

I don't know if it's the "best" really, and regardless of this thread, today I picked up my original BMW tire-kit, ordered a few days ago.
Preparing for the unavoidable winter

I haven't researched, but was told by the dealer that the new part-number for this kit is now: 71102333674.
Hope I will never need it

Best

Good info on this thread, thanks for all the responses. One more question, if I go with the Dynaplug air compressor and plug kit, can get a separate latex sealer spray that is self pressurized that doesn't need to work through the compressor?

With 20's on the rear...they are wide and it will be a tight fit to get a my hand to the inside portion of the tire, remove a nail, then plug it. In this scenario, I think it would be best to have a latext spray handy. Unlike the BMW oem, the Dynaplug kit does not have a latex spray option. It seems that as long as the spray is latex and water based, it will not harm the tire or tire sensor, correct?

If I buy the BMW oem latex sealer tank, will it likely work if I connected it to the Dynaplug air compressor?

Here is a stand alone option:

Great thread! I will likely pick up this Dynapro and keep it in our soon to be ordered X5 as I plan to switch to Conti DWS once OEM 20s wear out.
