Who has done the BMW Owners Rewards Track/Autocross Experience?

I received an email from BMW North America for a BMWOwnersExperience event at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL - I would imagine this event has been held at similar tracks throughout the country. I know that it has a timed autocross, hot laps in the 2014 M fleet, and track instruction.

Just wanted to know who may have done this event already and what your experiences were.

Just did it a week or so ago and it was a good time. In the morning, we got to drive 6/7 series on the track. You get to drive by yourself and follow an instructor in a lead car. After 3-4 laps, you pull back off the track and rotate cars. Was suprised that they didn't make you wear helmets and you got to drive the cars by yourself.

In the afternoon, my group went over to autocross course where you get to drive M3/M4/M6 Convertible/M6 Grand Coupe.

They provide free breakfast, lunch, and drinks. Would recommend going.

I'm going this coming Monday with my wife (Thermal, CA. Palm Spring area). We got invited by our SA.

Do it, it's awesome. Just did this last week.

We drove an M3, M4, and a couple M6s on an autocross track. Then in the afternoon it was 6 and 7-series on the big track, led by an instructor as noted already. Had a blast! And, the food was pretty good too...

You have to find a dealership that is sponsoring an event and get invited. It is run by BMWNA, but I believe each day at the track is sponsored by a dealership. If you are in NY you probably missed the local ones they held this summer at Pocono Raceway.
