Surprisingly close 60-130mph between the two cars!! It seems like the big advantage of the S55 is really in the lower gears, wonder what a 100-180mph would look like between the two, would the V8 gets the advantage at those speeds!?!

Edit: Just did some quick analize of the numbers and if I understand wel, it would meen that the E92 is faster at higher speed, maybe someone could confirm.

Exemple: if you take the best run of both cars, the difference in the 0-60 is 0.53sec in favor of the M4, the you take the 0-1320ft, the difference is shorten to 0.45sec, that should mean that the E92 is closing the gap!? :

From the averaged data presented here, the FBO M3 is quicker than the M4 from 100 to 130mph:

M3 FBO
60-100 = 9.3-4.47 = 4.83
100-130 = 10.13-4.83 = 5.30

M4
60-100 = 8.52-4.04 = 4.48
100-130 = 9.90-5.42 = 5.42

That's what I was thinking but was'nt sure if it was a good way to calculate things! Very nice from OP to have collected and shared those datas! That would kind of confirms my theory that the S55 runs out of breath at higher speed compared to the S65!

Yep. Now all we need is apples to apples. FBO S55 vs FBO E92.

This FBO E92 has all the best FBO parts and Evolve (which owns). Definitely a BEAST! Do you have dyno #s on both cars just out of curiosity?

Apple to apple is good but I would much prefer FBO E85+meth F8x vs S/C E9x!!

But seriously, a couple of things starts to make sence now, like why a stock M4 trap about the same as a stock Stingray but yet, a JB4 stg1 M4 can't even pull on one on the highway!

I don't personally race at triple digit speeds(or on public streets) so no sweat to me. 0-90 power is what I want. The S55 seems perfect for me.

But yeah the turbos are not big. Maybe they will release some RB ones or whatever like for the 335i.

Glad to see the F80 vs E92 wars are just beginning.

It will take a lot out of an f80 to beat an SC'd e90 that traps 133 as some do. It won't happen on stock turbos.

As already pointed out, this is not quite an apples-to-apples comparison (modded vs stock)

According to averaged test data from magazines, a stock E92 needs 7.2~7.4sec to go from 100 to 130mph. At 5.4 sec, the F8X remains significantly faster.

That FBO E9X in the OP is a beast

No this is not apple to apple but still, I think some F8x fanboys that were crying BS to the video of the E9x beating the F8x on the highway have now learned something, I'm not saying that any FBO e9x will beat a stock F8x, but I think it's now safe to say that it can happen!

And honestly I don't see much point in comparaing stock E9x vs stock F8x, one is the older version of the other and cost about half as much, of course it will be slower. What I personnaly like to see is were a platform can be brought with the right mods, that's much more interesting I think, to me at least, cause I've never kept a car stock!
