Squeaking/squealing sound when turning steering wheel

Lately I've noticed a squealing sound when turning my steering wheel. Happens when I turn the steering wheel sharply like when making a 90 degree turn or reversing out of a parking spot. Anyone know what it could be?

Fluid low? Serpentine belt worn?

Check low power steering fluid first. That cured it for me.

Check your hub bearing on the side you hear the noise. They tend to make a squeaky noise when they go bad, and usually when you turn.

PS fluid actually does look low. I took off the cap and it looks the fluid isn't even reaching the dipstick built into the cap. I'll try adding some fluid tomorrow and see if the noise persists.

No, but close to it.

After topping off the fluid yesterday I didn’t notice the sound this morning. Ill pay close attention again on my way home to see if its really gone.

No sounds from me that past two days after the ch11s fill up. Wow I hope that's all it was. Sounds about right it was the PS pump and not belts/pulleys making the noise. Crossing my fingers!
