M Performance Power Kit for 30d - fits 35d?

Just found the subject in the German forum here http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/m-per...-t5007642.html. (Where I've been trolling for codes).

Pdf for dealers, including install time, warranty impact, testing, hp/torque improvements are in the fifth post, or here http://mybmw.com.ua/wp-content/uploa.../PIDoc2305.pdf . Pdf is in English.

Cost estimated at under 1500 EUR, and includes air intake components, not just a chip. Warranty remains intact for the market. 0.3 sec 0-100 improvement. 250k km tested.

Question: how different is 30d from 35d? Displacement is the same. There may be emission differences. Anything else that might not make this work? Anyone have experience?

BMW warranty, BMW engineering, BMW tested, dealing with air requirements for more demand placed on engine, results, etc. make this very attractive. I was unaware bmw made such a kit for diesels.

UPDATE: uploaded original PDF as site linked above doesn't work some times.

Very interesting. Can you tell what the HP and torque increases are from the document?

You also get new brakes and bigger disks in the front. The brakes are the same, but discs are slightly bigger. Although they are the same they are in the package. If you opt for M brakes then the price is higher (like a lot). I got all the details at the dealer.

That would be great feedback.

I am quickly learning that dealers know far less than the online communities.

Example:
Just picked up mud flaps at the dealer. The parts dept said they have never seen them. Even the rears that supposedly won't fit the m sport per catalog, actually do. In fact, they looked more aligned than the fronts that are described as a fit

They are slightly textured and black (silicone/plastic). Dropped them of at a paint/body shop to see if they can sand them smooth and paint the outsides to match the Min. White. If it looks decent, I will put them on. Getting a lot of splashes, especially in the front. The rear wheel splash seems to end in and under the bumper.

That's my question, not knowing if minute differences between 30d and 35d, if any, make this N/A for NA

In the UK to have this done it only takes 3 hours but it costs £1,688.00.

That is great recon work. I will ask my dealer if the kit is suitable/approved for 35d. As far as I can tell, the number 35 is bigger than 30, and that is what we American consumers want. Otherwise it is the same engine with possible minor emission tech differences.

I could have sworn I saw the PDF above say it is a one hour instal....maybe that is the labor COGS, and the rest labor gross margin, hahaha.

Well, I am guilty of reading quickly and not to the end.

"Installation time

Approx. 1.0 hour
If the BMW M Performance 18" brake system is being retrofitted, the installation time increases by a further approx. 1.5 hours."

Price is certainly much higher than aftermarket solutions, but keeping the BMW warranty in tact and how these changes affect salability down the road are not to be ignored.

Thanks

Nothing found re 40d. Have searched German forums.

Also, contacted dealer regarding 35d:

• Kit is N/A for NA -which may become my new tagline
• It may work, but may produce errors

Strangely enough, the catalog lists the kit as available for 25d (Russian), which is rather odd considering how different that engine is. http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/parts/fullA...ce/11122354630

@Baunton I don't know if the price you have been quoted is the list price, but I found this which might do someone good if they live close by?

The powerkit is only for 30d and 35i, I bet if installed on 35d, it will void guarantee, Bmw doesn't allow any "molding" even if it possible, else they would have made a 35d powerkit. I think this is the pdf?

Considering the official BMW MPKK for my F15 30d/35d but struggling to find any before / after write-ups. Some Germany forums are saying that the power gain on paper is underestimated and the different in performance is more apparent. Is there any recent experience from forum members to add to this thread? I am also hoping that M Sport owners can skip the brake upgrade to keep the cost down. Thanks in advance!
