E90 ess 575 > c6z06 > to an m4?

So i used to have (2yrs ago) e90 with 575 kit, fabspeed catless racepipes... Then i drove my buddys c5z06 and decided that i want a z06, so i bought jsb c6z06. Had that thing for over a year and absolutely loved it (build head, headers, cai, tune, bilsteins and few other random things).... But a week ago i got into an accident and my z06 is getting totaled sad day. That car was a monster. So now im in a market for something else (wont have the patience to build a z06 again) and in the price range z06 is hard to beat. At one point i was thinking of picking up 08 m3 and throwing a sc on it again, but my brother says ill get bored with her (had it for two years before). So then few days ago i stumbled into a bmw dealership, and after looking over the $ numbers, i can probably afford to get the new m4... I had both those cars in germany (i was stationed there), and i can say past 160mph the m3 was fater (to 200mph), vette kind of dies down past 190mph (202mph gps was the fastest ive gone it it and only once, where in the m3 i burried the speedo every weekend). I do track once a month... I dont really like the new c7(well, i might have considered it, but base vettes loose their value waaaay too fast).

How much will the m4 depriciate in next two years? I put about 15k miles a year.

Has anyone gone from ess supercharged car to an m4? Or a z06? Impressions? How do they compare?

Thanks guys.

On the autobahn in m3. Obviously the speedo on the bimmer lies a lot, but u get the idea. It topped out at 209mph (337kmh), but using gearing/rpm calculator i got 199mph in 6th gear at redline.

I don't think anyone will know how they depreciate yet. I have not had an ESS SC, but visited their shop in AZ and considered it for my M3. But, hard to compare the two as they are just too different. One is a nice looking two seater drag car and the other a nice four seater road racing car who's chassis is well balanced, has lot's of torque and has a much better interior. The M4/M3 is much more versatile. Sorry, but even the best Chevy's interior is cheap still and to me this is disappointing. However, the new upper tier Chevy's have gotten better reviews for their handling characteristics like ZL1, Z28 and the new C7 ZO6, but are they really a daily driver? If you're after pure 0-60 times with more upside for performance modifications the Chevy is the best bet. If you want a good handling, fast car that's a daily driver that you can track and has a great interior to sit in day in and day out, M4 is for you. To date, no one has been able to (reliably) crack the ECU code on the new M's, so performance mod's are intake, exhaust and piggybacks. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks. Im well aware of the different style of cars that they are. My z06 had some great features that my fully loaded e90 didnt have (hud, button opening doors, seating position was better in z06 thought seats were garbage). I dont care for 0-60, but more so 100-160(if i get stationed back in germany). I also care about the track experience, cause like i said i track my cars. I have read the reviews online about it from pro's, but im looking for more of a regular driver perspective. Either compared to supercharged e9x or the z06... I know both z06 and the e9x that i had were much faster than the f8x m3/4, but how noticable is it?

Like for exhample: a mini cooper is not all that fast, but feels very fast! Which is what i would prefer... The z06 didnt feel fast until i was well into tripple digits....

Why not look into a Porsche? It does everything you are asking for?

If your going to lease, do it now. 39 month Ali's going away and residuals are supposed to be dropping a % or two come Jan.

If he "thinks" he can afford an M4, he probably can't afford a 991S.

Yea, cant afford 991, 997.2 carrera s is in the price range, but thats more comparable with e9x m3. Cant afford a gt3 either. I see 1m as another option, that little bugger is almost as much money as it was brand new...
