AY F80 PCD Delivery
Hey all,
Literally just got back to my hotel after pcd and all I can say is.... WOW! What a first class facility and staff. Seriously one of the best days I've ever had. I'm posting from my phone so I'll throw up a few iPhone pics of the car and will come back with a formal review of the day! For now enjoy

Thanks all,
So I finally am back after a long great maiden voyage in the M3, which I am affectionately calling the "Snot Rocket" Where to begin... Well it started Tuesday morning where me and my friend who has a CTS-V wagon started our drive down from Pittsburgh for the ultimate road trip. Let me tell you I originally wanted a CTS-V and although I ultimately made the better decision it is still a fantastic car. The wagon in particular is such a great road trip car it felt like a 556 hp freight train all the way down to Spartanburg. He hit some snow in WV and his beautiful opulent blue turned white with salt The day before delivery was great. The hotel and staff were all great and the booking of the room along with my extra night was all seamless between BMW, mariott and myself. Let's fast forward to the big day though. The PCD introduction was great, the staff all were class acts and you could tell they all loved their jobs and had a lot of fun. (Who wouldn't if that was your job). Going on the handling course and really being able to put an M3 through the paces was a fantastic experience as was the M5 hot lap. Those guys are amazing as well as what the big boy M5 can do on track. After that, I was lucky and took delivery first before going to the factory which was great because I honestly couldn't wait any longer. Pulling in I spied my austin yellow through the glass and just wanted to see her. My specialist nick was fantastic answered every question I had and really helped me learn a ton about the M3, I had a lot of iDrive questions with this being my first BMW let alone first M car. The tour was amazing considering they build almost 1300 cars a day there! I was pretty astonished at that number. The X5 really won me over on the off road course and honestly it was one of the more memorable things from the day. The next morning me and my friend joe headed out early because there's only one place to break in a new car down there... Which was the tail of the dragon. We set out early and got there around 8 and had a ton of fun. I still followed all break in procedures but taking those turns in something capable was just amazing. A few pics from the dragon All and all I got home with almost 800 miles on the clock! I'm really pushing to get to 1200 soon so I can get the break in service taken care of before winter really hits up here! I am so amazed at BMW and this new M3 it has blown away any expectations I had of it and I can truly say it's the greatest car I've ever driven and I have 0 regrets about not getting any other car I thought about. (RS5, ZL1, new stingray, CTS-v, boxster/cayman s) Thanks for reading and I hope to continue posting my adventures with the Snot Rocket!

Fantastic. No cops or any other traffic really. Only on our first run we got behind a tractor trailer but he pulled over and let us by. It is so much tighter and technical than I thought it would be. Really a great place to experience this car. Like I said, I still didn't go over 5500 rpm, and didn't push it very hard at all because I didn't want to a. get a ticket or arrested or b. crash my brand new M3 I owned for less than 12 hours. Overall though a great experience. I would suggest anybody looking for a low traffic time for the dragon is an early fall winter weekday. There was literally maybe 10 cars we saw in the almost 2 hours we were there.

Is it me or does the F80 looks really nice in AY, much nicer than the F82 The 19's seem to be two tone. I thought there was an option for jet black.

I always have thought that maybe BMW messed up a little when it came to the press cars, personally I think YMB looks better on the 4 and AY looks better on the 3. As for the wheels the black 19's all have black spokes with the front finished in like a shiny silverish color. Some pictures capture it more than others, and sometimes the reflection just reflects the surrounding black so it looks all black.
