Good, will you have a mobile device with you to show them in case it isn't present when you are there? Otherwise it's probably good to send it to them if you want to be sure they will be able to hear it in time for this service.

Great job capturing the horrible sound. Keep us posted.
However my experience has never lasted more than a few seconds

I had this happen to me a while back, I thought I was dragging my exhaust! I pulled over looked noticed nothing. I floored it and it went away. I think it was a rock in the rotor or something. Curious to see if your situation is the same

I brought mine in for the same thing. They tweaked out the dust shields and cleaned the shit out of the rotors. It wasn't just one rogue pebble. "Debris" was collecting around the hub.
Now that the shields have been tweaked, I have had zero recurrences, and this in the dead of winter with sand and gravel and shit all over the road. It's a well-known issue. Good luck!

Haha, I can't believe people are warping out about the pebble in the shield still. Just push it back! Or call BMW Assist and have your car flatbedded to the dealer for a pebble.

If you get it again just do the same thing yourself. I had it in two individual wheels over my first 1500 miles. . . The shields are pretty flimsy considering the tolerance/proximity to the rotors. You can bend them with your bare hand without a problem, just give em a light push and work your way around in a circle.

That is the exact noise I've heard too from the front passenger side. It's very sporadic and now at 2300 miles i haven't heard any noise in a while. Knock on wood...
But when it did happen before it was very distressful and annoying for sure. Keep us posted on the dealer response. Thanks for the video. |
