Hide registration on photos?

Why do most photos of new cars on the site have their registration plates obscured?
I'm just about to post some photos of my new car.

The reason will become quite clear when you get speeding tickets from a place you've never visited! Meanwhile, some poor bugger may eventually find out he's paid £50K for a stolen car with your number plates on it.

(Although Dublin is pretty posh nowadays. Maybe you needn't worry).

Agree about Dublin. Surely, if someone saw me driving down the road and recognised the type of car that I have and my plate they could do the same thing in any case. Maybe, posting on the net adds to the propensity?

Hi Zoso ! Internet is a wild place... too much information available on everyone. I obscured our license plates for a bit of anonymity I guess.
