SIXT M4 rental in Germany
I've booked an M4 rental through SIXT for 2 weeks in May,,,,
for my Germany/Switzerland road trip,, however SIXT says on the form that they can't guarantee that will be the car I get,, could be "or similar" Just wondering if anyone has gone this route and did get the M4 as ordered.. |

They are pretty good with getting you what you reserved.

Can't find M3/4 for rent in Munich, but a 7-er is $184.15/day. a

It just depends on the date you select it, I found one when I was looking as the location Munich Airport, but I was not looking for next month, I think I was looking for May or June and for 2 weeks it had a limit of 2.1k km.

You should get the M4 if you book in advance (like you did). I had luck when booking a M550d last time with Sixt, they delivered.
If you want more guarantee, book the M4 through BMW On Demand at Welt. They have hourly rates but it's not that much more expensive than Sixt since you only pay the first 3 hours of a day and insurance is included in price (no extra fees). |

http://www-1.bmw-welt.com/web_rb/bmw...pdf/prices.pdf At Euro 40/hour for M3, it's more of a test-drive proposition, than car rental business. a

I reserved a VW Golf TDi through SIXT when I was in Munich 2 months ago and was also told that a similar model depending on availability. I ended up getting what I booked even though it was a highly demanded rental car. I think your chance of getting the M4 rental is pretty high because not too many people would rent one for what it cost.
Sounds like a fun trip you will have. Have fun and enjoy!!

That makes sense...I got another message stating that the car is reserved but they couldnt promise at the exact time..so see how it goes...we were going to do the EU delivery on An M235 but didnt want to be without a car for 6 weeks....so opted to rent
And the price isnt all that bad considering... Plan is to head to the Ring first. I have a car booked with RSR for that...then make our to Switzerland and Drive the Furkapasse... |

yes Mosport is an awesome track,, I've done a few hundred laps,,,, saw
my first F1 race there in 1973.. the option of getting a car at the Welt doesn't work as it's not on my route. We are flying into Frankfurt.. the rental through SIXT is $1200 Euros for 2 weeks,, not bad at all. |

only thing that sucks about renting an M3 and likely the M4 from Sixt is you can't disable traction control on their cars. You should call their reservation line directly and they can make sure you get the car you want. You could also call Avis De and rent a 991 for similar price.

SIXT won't guarantee the car. I've rented from them twice in Atlanta recently and asked for an X5 each time and got an ML350 both times.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

just got back,, SIXT had a nice new Mineral Grey with 2000kms waiting,,
straight to the Autobahn to Nurburgring,,, lots of traffic and didn't get too much time to open it up,,,,as for the rest of the trip,,, didn't get a whole lot of opprotunity to find out what it could do but still enjoyed the car,,,,, at the ring I did my 4 laps in the Renault,, very humbling out there to say the least,, it's a very challenging track,,,, second day we did the Ringtaxi in the M5,, that was awesome,,, made it to Switzerland only to find out most of the mountain passes were still closed,,,,,the weather was cool and rainy for a few days but still managed to find some fun roads to try,,, all in all it was a great trip but next time I'll rent a 2 series the M4 is just a tad too big for the roads and parking,,, |
