MG/SO M4 Convertible - BMW Performance Center Pick Up 3/16

Picked up my M4 convertible at the BMW Performance Center in SC yesterday. What a great experience. BMW knows how to treat their customers.

Stayed at the Marriott in Greenville, SC the night before. Since we live in the Charolotte-area, we drove as it is only 1.5 hours away.

Dinner was surprisingly good at the hotel. See the BMW-specific menu below. Banana Foster's Bread Pudding was amazing!

After a tough night of trying to sleep, my wife and I got up early and took the shuttle to the facility. We started the day with a brief overview and guidelines. I was the only person picking up an M4, with others picking up an X5, a couple of M235i's, a 435i and an i8. This was only their second i8 delivery at the performance center. You're supposed to drive in a "like" car on the track; however, since they don't have any i8's in their fleet, the lady drove an M6. I drove an AY M4 F82.

Since arriving at home, I switched out the chrome grill surrounds with gloss black from IND and I played around with wrapping my side markers with this carbon fiber look vinyl. Not sure if I'll keep this or not. I also covered the front orange reflectors in this carbon fiber vinyl. Again, not sure if I'll keep it or not but it is definitely better than the orange.

Would definitely recommend performance delivery and will likely do it again.

Anyway - on to the pics from yesterday. And, a big thanks to Adrian at BMW of South Atlanta for working with me on the deal.

Gorgeous. I normally have never liked carbon grilles/gills but those look sweet!

Congrats, great looking car! How were the grill surrounds to change...any difficulty? I have an AY M3 on order and plan to do the same with the grill surrounds.

It was a bitch. The bottom clips are tough to get to. Bruises on my hand still from shoving it way down there. Once you get the first one off, the second is easier because you can access it easier.

However, it is doable.

Pic with the black grills, carbon fiber front reflectors and carbon fiber side markers. Wheels are ready and will be shipped on Monday!

By the way, this car gets so much more attention here than my previous e93. At dinner today in the parking lot pictured here, a couple of kids took some pics of the car. On the way home, I got a thumbs up from a biker and from a construction truck driver.
