M-DCT here I come!
I just got a call from my dealer that a 13th week build is available for the M-DCT transmission. I am foregoing my 6 speed build and going the clutchless route.
The car should be here by the first week of May. |

Thanks. Be patient, I'm sure yours will come soon. I am really making a leap of faith on this one. I have always been a manual fan. I hope it's what I expect. Also, it appears that some of the build dates are being pushed back, probably due to the 70 damaged M's. We knew that this would have some residual effect. |

DCT change
What status were you at when you changed? I'm at 112, so assume I would have to give up this allocation and start over if I wanted to change? Or, maybe they would just slip the build date?

It's interesting to see the last minute shufflings between the 6MT and the M-DCT clubs! I was 60% M-DCT up until the point when things became real and I had to put an order in, and I chose 6MT because I don't want to order M-DCT without experiencing it in person. I might join the M-DCT club in 3-4 years if I decide that I really want the change. Good luck with your order Devo!

I have to call back the second dealer within a couple of hours and let them know if I want the DCT. Now that I am faced with the real choice I am wavering. I might just stick with the 6 speed. See what three hours does. Ask me in an hour and I'll change my mind again. Seriously, I think I am staying with the 6 speed. I am afraid that M-DCT will be too sterile for me. |

But I decided that I don't want to mess with ECU flashes to get access to the sport steering, the third and more aggressive throttle mapping, and the less instrusive DSC settings. And I would like to have the M-button--not that the button introduces any new functionality. So, I must admit I caved in on that one. |

Don`t like the 2nd hump myself, but here in the Netherlands I can`t order it without
So the only alternative is not to order a M3......................................now that is a little bit to much to be asked |

I was in the same boat as you, was 100% 6speed until saw the cab video with DCT and read the specs. Dealer called this morning, my 6speed sedan was flipping to fixed order within the hour for production week 7 (mid Feb?)..... so I opted for M-DCT and build date mid May for sedans.

That is the horror I was afraid we would face here in the states. It would have likely been the final straw, although there really isn't another car that I'm interested in so I don't know what would have happened.

Tough decision. You're having the MT right now in the 335, don't you? Do you like it? Are you searching for something new/different? Just some thoughts... If Swamp chimes in before you've made up your mind the outcome is pretty obvious. Best regards, south |
