Brake Caliper Color Options

The date is fast approaching to order my M3, and man am I getting excited. The options will be MY 2016, SSII, Full SO, LED F & R, Dynamic Suspension, and HK.....now all I need is to determine the brake caliper color. I have only seen the standard blue or yellow with CC brakes on this site and not much banter on the caliper color choices. Has anyone out there gone with the red (I think this might be one to consider) or orange option?

I assume you're speaking of aftermarket since factory option is only blue or gold with the CCB.

The blue calipers on my Mineral Grey M4 have grown on me and I do like them a lot now. However, I think if red was a choice, I would have picked that.

There are definitely a few people that have painted their calipers on this site red, orange, etc. either with IND or EAS, etc. I'd have to look. Anyway it's possible. Look in the pictures sub forum.

As far as I'm aware, there is no option to change the caliper color. I believe forum member Greg/w has the same color combo as you, but in an M4. And had his calipers painted SO by ind. Looked great.

if you are going to get the calipers redone in a color please have them powder coated and not painted

paint will look good for a little bit but will eventually fade with heat

i would highly recommend Detective Coating as they specialize in coating Brembo calipers
http://detectivecoating.com/brembo-c...ct/id=46309041

I have contacted him about him getting cores in so that people could go without any downtime.

I think bimmerpost member Jaguar can comment here! If I recall correctly... He swapped his M4 brakes with the F30 M-Performance brakes (in red)

Have to disagree. Unless you are on track there is no way you will loose the finish of a painted calliper - even more so with high temp laquer! I can speak from years of experience without an issue on several cars.

And if you want to go for a non RAL colour (ie. metallic) etc then powder coating is not possible.

we are talking about M owners, while some will never touch a track id say more M3/4 owners will track their car than most other models out there. So yes I'd be concerned with painting a caliper when it can be done just as cheap (compared to some vendors here) to have them professionally powder coated

You can order the red/yellow/orange performance calipers from the F20/30 since these are the same unfortunatly.

I can't remember exactly, but in the track section, maybe MasterC17 melted the paint off his calipers at Watkins Glen? He had pics, and they were green after his track day.
