Alpine White or Black Sapphire

Recently just ordered my M4 in Alpine white over black extended because I didn't want to put up with the maintenance of black sapphire.

I have been seeing pics of black sapphire and starting to fall in love. Thoughts?

Mine is BS, and I love it (but so are my other two cars). I'm not anal about it, in fact it usually dirty and only gets a car wash (drive thru) every other week or so (rain takes care of it in between). Call me a heathen (its my car that is unwashed, though). I just enjoy driving more than washing/waxing.

Point is, although black does show more dirt than gray, it isn't all that bad in reality. And when I owned an AW 5 series, it always looked dirty to me too. But then I gave it the same care...

I was in the same boat between those two color choices. My last 3 cars have been black and as everyone always says, black is a pain. In the end I ended up staying with BSM but I really like AW. I think the body lines of the car show better on lighter colored cars but the black looks the most aggressive IMO. It's really all personal opinion so at the end of the day it's what you like better. Every color will have people that love/hate it so again, it's really personal preference. I will say if you don't want to be a part-time detailer, AW is probably the easier for everyday.

I'm in the small minority who aren't big fans of white cars. if I'm choosing between MW and BSM, easy choice.

as long as you can keep the black car nice and shiny clean it would be my choice.
Just dont sneeze on it or look at the paint wrong as it will cause swirls

I too picked up my BSM m3 yesterday. And I'm in love withit. I always preferred black cars over white. And I'm not very anal about keeping them clean.

My very first BMW was a black 325i, then a white 330i, then a black 335i, and now a white 235i. I like white better. I just think it looks more sporty, especially after the windows are tinted. Black cars look stunning right after a wash/wax but then gets dirty again really quick. I guess the same can be said for white cars too (that it gets dirty quickly) but I never found that to be the case.

For my next car I'm either going to stick with white or go with a deep blue (Tanzanite or something like Deep Sea Blue). So if i were in your shoes, I'd go with white on black; it's a classic combo. Also, no offense to anyone here but I don't understand why people like the blacked out look (black on black with black wheels and tints). It looks atrocious IMO. I think that might be part of the reason why I prefer white on black.

My Z435 is black sapphire and I switched it out for an AW M3. As others have mentioned, I think it takes much more work to keep the black looking good, and for the M3 I like the contrast of the white with the black CF roof

I am also not a fan of white cars although I realize it is a very popular color. It is actually in my Hertz Rental profile that I don't want a white car. I was very disappointed by the color choices on the M4. The only two that I liked at all were Mineral Gray and Black Saphire. Went for the BSM because Mineral Gray was too similar to the Space Gray on my previous car and I wanted something a bit different.

White is easy to maintain but I'd still say Black Sapphire for sure. Had it on my M5. As long as you clean your own car and have a garage it'll stay looking great. I'm sure I'm in the minority in not really liking white M cars as it's the most common color.

both have their strengths. If you like both and can't pick one, flip a coin. win win IMO

or go indiv and get a cool color, that gets my vote!

Aside from the fact that black cars are only clean for 15 min after a wash. White cars are more sporty and cool with the young crowd. White shows the aggressive lines of the M4 better. Especially if you decide to add CF parts. Much more dramatic.

Black cars are a bit understated. It's a safe choice to go black. Looks good with most cars as long as you don't notice that it's dirty. My last three were black. And I think that's the last time I'm getting black. I'm getting white for my next car.

Both color options are great- but you've gotta make a good contrast interior with it.

Naturally- I'd prefer BSM. It's much more "aggressive" so on a coupe- it's necessary.

I liked what golffrr said- go individual! I did Frozen black with Opal white interior

Depends on where you live tbh.. If you live somewhere hot, sunny, can get sandy or dusty (not talking about california sunshine when I say sunny). Don't get black swirl marks are gonna show like crazy. Unless you take good care of the body you got no probs!

So....I have OCD and a BSM M4. I wanted AW but realized I would wait longer than I wanted to wait so I chose my second option of BSM. I've had 7 black cars (four of them BMWs) and said I would not do it again but here I am. There is something about black (when clean) that says bad ass. You can see that from a few pics in this thread. Having said that, the AW with CF roof is also badass so you can't go wrong.

Okay, so I know my next car will be white because its on order already
