It's not easy according to many members. I saw someone use a puller with a block of wood in the exhaust. Do a search and your find a few people comment on their struggle and what was successful. Many just use a big hammer.

I just did it the other day, it's a huge pain. I was able to get them off without damaging them, but I can see how some people totally screw them up. I used a framing hammer and a 5 lb sledge and some muscle. Basically I wrapped the claw in a shop rag and hooked it onto the 6:00 position of the chrome tip on the "front" side. Then I swung about 3-4 times at the hammer to dislodge the outer sleeve. Some took more whacks than others. Once they slide about a half an inch, you can grab the tip with both hands and forcefully wiggle it off. Good luck!

It is really a pain in the ass.... or in my case, the elbow.
