Really regret not getting full leather
Any chance I can get someone to make a high quality dash cover that even remotely resembles the quality you get if you check this box?

Got my M4 with three options - HK, 19" and full leather. I really couldn't see being without that stitching on the dash and doors

A good upholstery shop should be able to do it.

I think I need an M3 and the only thing I would change this time around is the leather to full, or of course being the logic beast I am, to cloth. That build would start my usual way again...

I agree. I wished I spec'd full leather. The dash ... At least the extended merino feels better than my 328i's dakota.

I mean what I'd really prefer is for there to have been a leather dash option for $1000-$1200 like we had on the X5. I really don't think the rest of the leather would add much for me, but I've been in a few full leather cars now and it really does feel a LOT more refined/expensive inside.

it was a no brainer for me to order full leather. I hated the plastic dash on both of my E9x M3s

I seen it before hand, and I couldn't resist.
However, I think IND has some sweet Alcantara on their dash.

Think I'd be to affraid I'd scratch the crap out of it or sun fade and cracking would do it in over the years. I'm so anal wth care of my leather seats, adding the dash would put me over the top on insanity.

That's why you put 70% UV film on the windshield.

+10000000% agree with you. My buddy and I went to the Welt together and picked up our M's. He checked the box and I didn't. I am so jealous.

I went back and forth so many times... I'm crazy. Extended leather wasn't even an option for me -- it was either cloth or full leather.

I regretted it at first after I saw one in person but when I thought about how it wouldn't really boost resale value I'm glad I skipped it.

Why would you think it wouldn't boost resale value and why would you order options/not order options on this basis? Just wondering

In my eyes, full leather would be just the option I'm looking for in resale along with LEDs.

An e92 with enhanced premium sound doesn't fetch 2k more than one without on the used market. Not even 1k more In fact I sold my e92 for more than a car that had far more options I also tried to trade a few cars to my dealer that were loaded and he told me when he checked off all the options that we had it didn't make much of a difference. Only navigation got like a few hundred bucks. They only care about year, accidents, and mileage. Buyers cared more about stuff like zcp or cf roofs, maintenance, mileage You're not going to get back more than 15% of what you paid for full leather. Get it only for your personal enjoyment |

Sat in full before order and although it was nice I realized that I NEVER look at or touch the dashboard. 8 months later, and yup, there could be a nest of sleeping black widow spiders on the dash and I wouldn't notice it.
Do you people get in your cars, rub your hands on the leather dash and crack a self approving smile or something? Or stare at the leather while sitting in traffic? I don't get it. Maybe in a 5,6 or 7 series I can see leather being a must have, but not in an M. The only reason I have any leather is because it was part of the exec package.
