KW H.A.S. drop for a DD

So for those that are running the KW H.A.S. on their F82 and is using the car as a daily driver, what have you found to be the lowest drop in the front and back that still allows the car to clear speed bumps and inclines/declines without too much of a concern?

HAS will lower a max of 1" all around. Speedbumps will vary.

Thanks Tom but could you tell me what is the most common drop (front and back) that you have seen based on the installs at your shop? Is there a recommended drop?

Varies on wheel/tire setup. Most will see about 0.75" up front and 0.5" in rear, or about a finger gap between tire and fender.

We've seen guys run the lowest setting (1.2 in front/rear).

It depends on if you have a front lip, how large the bumps ,or how steep the drive ways are in your area.

The drop isn't quite as steep as the H&R at (1.3 front) for both the F80 and F82.

How are the roads in your area?

I live in Miami so the roads down here are pretty smooth and flat. The only inclines/declines I generally encounter are at gas stations while I get a lot of speed bumps in parking garages and communities.

Is it as straight forward as measuring the height of the speed bump and making sure my front end is at least that high off the ground? I don't have a front lip yet but am planning on eventually purchasing one after the drop if I still have enough clearance to avoid cracking it the next day.

Eibach Euro springs are pretty conservative at .8" in front and .2" in rear. My HAS is at .9" and .3" to start and can always drop further.

My HAS is set right about at the eibach specs. I'm happy with the look and so far so good with inclines and speedbumps

I know I wanted it a tad lower in the front than the Euro Eibachs so I'll most likely go with the 0.9" and 0.3" drops to start as well. Thanks everyone!

a little off topic but how is the spring rate for you guys? it scrapes when I hit a bump but didn't have a problem with my H&R springs and that was lower. How I currently sit:

The US Eibachs are supposed to be 2 mm lower in the front than the Euro spec. Will probably be what you're looking for if you don't plan on playing with ride height too often.

I'm still considering the HAS so I can raise it up in the winter for snow lol

Sorry. I didn't get a notification for the comment back.

I think you should have no issues with the drop. Fellow member Money2536 drives his F80 on the lowest setting on a daily basis in your area.

I think he can give you the best feedback

I thought he was setup like me now. Full drop front and about 3/4 rear.

Car rides great but the clearance problems the HAS is causing me are very frustrating. I also scrub rear a bit over huge bumps. My friend has same offset, tires, but H&R. He doesnt bottom out. I dont get it.

Now I am unsure... Last I heard, he was on the lowest setting at 1.2"

If I were to take a guess, I think it would have to do with the "progressive" spring rates vs the linear spring rates of the H&R, as stated by KW.

Pretty sure H&R sports are progressive

Yeh man it makes no sense. The only thing i see is the side that rubs is .2 HIGHER than the rear side that is fine and the camber on the right side is .1 degree higher. The passenger rear just barely knicks the inner liner on big bumps on the highway. Driver rear never.

I guess... The only solution is coils??

JK JK.

It really is peculiar that you're experiencing that.

Hmm... Lets see if Eric can chime in here for you

I actually do think I want to do coils now just not sure which ones yet. Pyspeed is being awesome and replacing my front wheels for free so I dont have to run spacers.
