M3/M4 Colour ideas

Im planning ED of a 2016 M3, so I have time to decide on a colour. Someone correct me if Im wrong, but its possible to get BMW to paint the colour in pretty much any existing colour correct from most car manufactures, right? Im assuming most would be a 5k up charge with a few reaching into 10k?

Here is one that comes to mind id love to get on an M3 if it would be possible to do. Any other suggestions?

Blu Mirabeau

This is kinda cool. Estoril is the best BMW blue IMO, but my current car has it and I have been looking at it for the last 12 years, so no way I would go that route again. If I hadnt had it before Id jump on it in a heart beat. One of the best BMW colours ever made IMO.

Love San Marino too.

The problem is, your request has to be approved.

Several members have requested ferrari colors or mclaren colors and been denied. Then again we saw the ferrari red M3 I believe not too long ago.

Worst case scenario you don't get the exact blue you want. My suggestion is atlantis blue, although Long beach blue which is offered on the X5 and X6 M could possibly become an option later on and wouldn't warrant such a hefty price tag at the moment, only to be had in a year or two for a 550 option.

Here is atlantis

Anyone know what causes a rejection? Do they contact ferrari ask for the specs of the paint and get denied?

I seriously doubt that BMW would directly contact Ferrari, McLaren, etc, to ask for the specs of the color. BMW has an incredibly experienced paint and design team who are extremely capable and could more than likely, for the right price, match "Blu Mirabeau" without too much trouble. Where I believe the issue exists, is if the color has some sort of intellectual property protection by the respective brand, i.e. a trademark, and that unfortunately would involve lawyers more than painters...

Recently, I saw a pic of a Tiffany & Co. eggshell blue Ferrari 458 Speciale, and that's ok to do, even though "Tiffany Blue" is a trademarked color, because there's no way Tiffany & Co., a jewelry maker, could be confused with making cars (even though some of their jewelry costs more than most cars ) Where Ferrari would run into trouble is if their massive merchandising operation decided to box one of their watches, cuff links, sunglasses, etc., in an eggshell blue box. This is also more than likely why the Individual Ferrari Red M3 recently posted on the forums is called "Ferrari Red", instead of BMW using it and calling it "Racing Red" or something along those lines, and passing it off as a color they developed themselves. That way there is no question as to the origins of the "Rosso Corsa" hue of red on a BMW, and Ferrari gets credit for it's use.

Just my thoughts...

porsche voodoo blue looks very similar to Santorini. Save 2k with santorini.

Majority of non-BMW individual colors are going to cost $7k and yes, any color can be denied.

Agree... Many of the BMW colors themselves will be similar and just plain cheaper anyways. Although the Blu Mirabeau on the Ferrari looks pretty unique for some reason.

I've seen Long Beach Blue in person and am hoping they add that to the MY16 F82 colors, but they would have to drop YMB I feel because it's similar.

It is....although right off the top off my head i would have said it looks similar to topaz blue from the e46 era... looking at that chart, looks very similar to maldives blue as well.

Long Beach Blue is only similar to YMB in that they're both light, aggressive blues. Long Beach is very close to Atlantis, and far from YMB if you see it in person.
