Mineral White or Yas Marina Blue....what a DILEMMA
I ordered my M3 months ago in YMB/SS/Black 19"/CF roof and if I didn't have to wait so damn long, I wouldn't have the time to rethink my choices over and over again.
The only two colors that do anything for me are MW or YMB. My local dealer has a M3 in MW/Black/Black 19"/CF roof and the black/white contrast looks STUNNING! MW will look great 10 years from now but I have never owned a white car before. YMB is a M specific color and it looks STUNNING as well but I'm not sure if it still will be 10 years from now (for me and everyone who sees it on the road). So now I am having my doubts.......ahhhhhh the freakin' mental anguish. Any inputs to help my dilemma would be highly appreciated.

YMB and MW are both beautiful colors, you will be happy with either one. They both provide great contrast between the roof and sexy as hell. Stop thinking about it. I personally like YMB because it's a unique color depending on the light.
No really stop thinking about it or else I'm going to come to your house and spray paint it this: I won't even knock.

SakhirM4, this is a very valid point and one of the pluses for YMB, but the MW has a different look too, its definitely not AW......which IMO is the white you see on every other car.

I literally change my mind every day when it comes to the color.
I could go with anyone of these 5: BS, MG, AW, MW and YMB. I am leaning towards BSM, but I like all the above a lot. The thing about YMB is that I guess you need to see it in person, because it seems to look different in each picture you see on the internet. |

Yes, I have several friends with MW M3 or M4. MW is different from AW, but in the end it is still WHITE. It is your car - your opinion - your choice.

I just got my mineral white car and i love it the color is beautiful and Yaz will get old quick its kind of an immature color for the car as much as i do like it. White is just a classy timeless color.....

You can't go wrong with either color.
Just remember that white is ubiquitous. And if anyone responds with the "but but but Mineral white is different"... well it is but every onlooker wouldn't be able to tell the difference and to them it's just plain old white. Can't say the same for YMB. I personally would get YMB because it is more of a special color in my eyes. |

Alpine / Mineral is the safe choice, and the stormtrooper combo (white with black rims/accents) looks fantastic on the M3/4.
The worry I have (and would have if I owned YMB) is that the color would get old in a hurry. It is a stunning color, but it's also a fad color. I don't expect BMW to keep it on the order palette for long. To me, it looks least attractive in direct sunlight because of the metallic paint. It looks far better at night or on cloudy days. That direct sunlight look is just too baby blue for me. The good thing about YMB given that it's a trend color is that similar colors showing up on other expensive cars, like Porsches: That's better than Audi's Nardo Gray (which looks stunning on an RS7), also showing up on a Scion (eep!). |

I've seen Nardi gray in person and it is an amazing color but for some reason on the M it doesn't look that great a person on this forum has it, indivual ordered color idk y it doesn't work on this car in my opinion but everyone has different taste. Or car manufactures would only make one color haha.

I think the "washout" look that is in your picture, is just that - in the picture. One of my test drives was in a YMB M4 and I took this picture in direct sunlight. The picture looks exactly as it did in person.

This is a better representation of what I remember. Same car, better photo: If I were ordering YMB for myself, I'd get it with the light wheels. The black wheels detract from the paint (if that makes any sense). I don't want to say it cheapens the look... but it kinda does (for me). I'd do black wheels on white in a heartbeat (and wouldn't do the light wheels). Hey... you asked for opinions. |

I took this picture of a YMB M4 with the silver rims on it at the other local dealer. The silver looks great as well but I do like the black slightly better. I'm just glad the local dealers have a pretty good inventory of F8Xs. I don't live in a metropolis. Damn, I can't keep thinking about this shit, it's driving me crazy. It was so much easier in 1890 when you pick any color you wanted as long as it was black

BUT here is a great shot of the black rims! Looks less classy (as with silver rims) but more sporty.
