Unless something has changed w/ the e9X series, I don't recall BMW ever offering a heated steering wheel option in any 3-series. It would be nice, but if it is that cold I have a pair of leather gloves on as the car warms up.

It's considered more a "luxury" item. The M3, especially, is not a luxury car. I've never missed that feature, but maybe if I'd had it or lived in Minnesota I'd be asking the same question!

The question I would ask myself if I lived in Minnesota is.... why am I living in Minnesota?

I asked myself that about Pensylvania when I was 8 (ex-Erie). Actually, I had no say in the matter but love the West Coast.

I would ask myself that question, too. Erie doesn't sound appealing in the slightest.

Yeah, Philly is many cuts above! No slam on PA, I guess I'm remembering most the severe winters.

its very comfortable and better than gloves IMO. its simply a few wires, a button and the heating elements int the steering wheel. I would think it would be very popular in Germany. its one thing that would not really add wieght to the M3.

If you look at the 5 series that has only ever been an option on the SE models until the last 12 months when it finally made it onto the M-sport and even the M5.

It's never been an option on the 3 series, one of those little things they use to make you move up the range

It's actually a nice feature. It came with the CWP on my X5. Since I rarely use my heated seats, I was surprised that it makes it difference on cold days. While I won't miss it on the M3 I hope to order, it is a nice feature.

To the OP, as others have said, I don't think it is offered on any 3 series.

I actually miss this feature too... Don't know if it's even available in Sweden (which would be weird) because we don't have it in any of our BMWs. Audi has it thought...

Could they not offer heated foot pedals for those of us who happen to like driving in our socks.

Dude! like come on now- it was in the 40's over night for an entire week! I thought my fingers were going to freeze to the steering wheel!

Yeah, how about a microwave heating grid. It warms you from the inside out!
