6 piston gold calipers
Im curious as to the possibility of installing the gold 6 piston calipers on the f80 with non ceramic rotors... there's a vendor selling a kit with these calipers and iron rotors for the previous M3... would be nice to just swap the blue 4 piston calipers for these...

i think it must be doable but I wonder if using the M5 version of the caliper would be the easier option?

Bummer! I hope they offer something in the future, as it's pretty reasonably priced, IMO.

I shall... F80 will be built 7/15. I just wanted something better than stock without shelling out $8k for the ccb. From what I've read the stock blue brakes are the only weak point on this car and not worthy of a $70k car. Even the Cadillac ATS-V while 2k cheaper comes standard with 6 piston front and 4 piston rear brembos...

Interested in this too. Ordering very soon and doubtful about the CCB's. Like the calipers, don't need the ceramics.

I too am contemplating this, as I believe the standard calipers on the F8x are too small. I found the F8x CCB calipers (minus pads) with mounting hardware and lines at a great price. I just need to know if it's possible to work without any issues.

They should mount fine... the trick i believe is the rotors and accompanying hardware... because it should be plug and play if you have everything needed. Only a matter of time for some shop to do it i guess because the calipers can be gotten for a fair price from getbmwparts or the like...

I checked REALOEM and confirmed that the uprights are the same between the regular brakes and the CCB.
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=31_1122 This is good, since it means that the CCB caliper will bolt right up. However, since the CCB rotor is larger, the pads wouldn't contact the rotor in the right place. Porsche guys who track a lot often replace their CCB rotors with steel rotors, either by bolting on a full steel setup or just running larger steel rotors with CCBs. I think the latter is the right way to fix it. I'm hoping that Performance Friction comes out with a rotor hat that fits both the Steel and CCB optioned M3s and uses a standard 380mm rotor for the steels and a 405mm rotor for CCB. This would allow CCB owners who want to track without fear of destroying $5k rotors switch to steels, but it'd also allow the larger 6 piston calipers to be used as an upgrade. Likely this is possible but I haven't measured the rotors. Probably cost prohibitive compared to stoptechs or Brembos, though, given the cost of OEM calipers, but who knows. |

Do you know for a fact that F80 calipers fit the F10 M5 rotors?
