He has an M4 - not the same door seal issues as the M3.

Every M3 ever built had major rattles. Both my e36 and e46 M3's had rattles.

The way I explain is that these cars were always stiff, which translates to noises. I can't see it any other way.

No, the rattles can be fixed.. Again probably need to lube your doors.

Also as camber stated, stiffer cars find rattles. Also another thing is the F8x probably doesn't have a ton of sound insulation vs other 80K cars that aren't as performance driven.

Do you have CF interior trim? There is a few posts on fixing the rattles with some tape.

Can you pin point the rattle? Lose speaker?
You can always add in some sound insulation to the doors if you need it.

BMW made this much stiffer than many race cars. That along with 19" rims, and no rubber bushings.... things are going to get loose. The e92 was not nearly as stiff.

I knew when I went from my 550i to the M4 the ride would be rough. Rough ride - equals - rattles and shakes. go buy a chevy with 4000lb of torsional stiffness and rubber mounts, less likely to have rattles (at least in the first 30k miles)

"BMW claims the M3's torsional stiffness is over 40,000 Newton-meters per degree, approaching that of the 2004 BMW M3 GTR race car, which used a steel-tube
roll cage to reach 46,000 Nm/deg. The stiffness comes in part from the same strut-tower brace that also helps steering feel and response. Additionally, BMW
mounts the rear subframe directly to the body, with no rubber bushings."

Depends on the state, and the issue (safety/warranty) as to how many times the dealership/manufacturer has to fix the problem.

I say this from experience. I'll leave it at that.

So, yes it absolutely can be done. Those that say no, have never been through the process.

4400 miles and not one rattle yet... And how the f do you people hear rattles with the sound of the engine so loud inside? Between music and engine sound I don't think I could hear a rattle.

Sure you can. You can also get pain and suffering compensation. Just find a good (lol...I know) attorney, he'll tell you.
