Secondary air check valve?
After finally ordering my throttle actuators to solve that issue, I'm onto the final one to get this thing ready to go and finally in my name!
I'm waiting for the actuators to come, but I thought I'd see about the next issue while I twiddle my thumbs because I got thinking more on it. I'm throwing 27B0 for secondary air flow rate on bank 1. I haven't put the car on a lift to inspect anything, but the exhaust looks fine from what I can see. The car always seems to have a leak though. I tried blowing into the tube while I was disconnected from the air pump, but attached to both valves. Nothing. It seemed like they were completely shut. The hoses all look good as well. What I do notice is that the leak is much louder on a cold start when the pump is running. As soon as it shuts off, the leak quiets down a bit, but you can still hear it. What I'm wondering is if the check valve being stuck closed could cause this. I don't see why if flow is restricted rather than stuck open on the bank 1 valve and the pump works. Do these use vacuum to open? I haven't taken the valve out, but I've looked at the part online and it doesn't look like it has a stop for vacuum. If not, how does it open? Also could a general exhaust leak cause this code? Seems possible. |
