Spark plug change Pics

Changed my plugs tonight and I didn't think they looked too bad. I'm not sure when they were changed last but these couldn't have 52k (actual miles on my car) on them right? Next I'm going after the precat O2 sensors.

My plugs was changed 3 years ago. Today i got them change my car is in 52km. Do you guys think it makes performance better than before ?

I just did my plugs last weekend and after hearing the horror stories of getting to the back plugs I was pleasantly surprised to find it was pretty easy. I could have done it without removing the cowl stuff up top.

My plugs looked a little better than yours, however 3 had oil on them, those 3 plugs were also not tight at all, one was even hand tight.

I don't think those plugs look too bad, but considering how easy it is I'll be checking them every 20k or so.

Not sure yet only turned the engine over to verify everything was good. When it fired up though it may have been my imagination but the exhaust seemed to smell richer for about 10 seconds then the smell was gone.

Where was the oil? On the plug threads or the tip?

I too had oil but on the threads and was worried that might mean my head gasket was compromised. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that I'm consuming 1 qt of oil every 5k.

Yes, the packs closest to the cabin would have been fairly difficult otherwise.

I had oil on the threads, but the plugs with oil on them were also loose. So I am assuming engine oil was leaking through the threads or valve cover gaskets. I'll have to recheck them in a bit and make sure they are still tight and see if there is more oil...

If the head gasket were compromised wouldn't you have a different issue? like oil on the block?

Yes, you could have oil on the block or dripping out on the ground. I did read that the valve gasket when compromised can cause oil to show up on your spark plug threads. This would be an easier fix too than the head gasket.

I actually removed 6 by hand and the ones near the cabin with a flat head screwdriver
