Wow, attitude, all he is saying is that they are two completely seperate engines.

But if you want info just check out the specs on the engines on the BMW site.

now that is a reasonable response since I did not make it clear. e70 4.8, oh never mind its written in the title.

and again I am not an ass, I totally understand where you guys are coming form , but like it said I was not trying to compare the cars togather, I was jsut wondering if anyone had driven both how the sound and the feel was. OK. so I guess that is a comparision, but I wasn't trying to determine the better one or the better sounding or whatever.

So sorry that I am a tard.

MODS, please jsut delete my silly thread, so that we can all just get along.

oh yeah does anyone know how the m3 v8 sounds and feels in comparison to the e70 x5 4.8

you got an answer.

aples and oranges.

no comparison. that means the M3 motor will be and feel nothing like an X5 v8.

NO SHIT! that is exactly my point! I was not asking if they felt the same.
I was asking how they felt different by someone that has driven them both.

here is my other point. I am sure that everyone that posted in this thread has not driven both,,,,, so why are you posting.

Doesn't this belong in the M3 vs. .... forum? I'm an oranges kinda guy myself. Oh yeah, I haven't driven either the M3 or the X5 so I guess I'm not allowed to post here.

buschy, just FYI, your thread would have been better titled:

S65B40 vs. N62B48

As those are the names of the engines in question. I say this not to be a smart-ass but to explain to you how to develop better topics that are less likely to get you flamed in the future. FWIW there is also an N62B40 too, so you can actually compare the two at the same displacement. Here's a couple links:
