Official spring data from Swift is here!

After a considerable wait, we have confirmed the official data on Swift's M3/M4 lowering springs for the F8x cars.

Swift Japan has been a leader in spring technology since the company's inception in 1997. Swift has engineering backing from one of the largest spring manufacturers in Japan, their parent company Tokyo Hatsujo corporation. Swift's spring technology allows for an excellent control of spring rate, spring travel, and response, while maintaining the lowest possible spring weight. This reduction of spring weight translates directly into lower overall unsprung weight and better vehicle handling and ride quality. Swift's proprietary HS5.TW alloy is specifically designed to balance these characteristics.

Swift's M4 springs come in a 279 lbs/inch front rate, and a 726 lbs/inch rear rate, and will lower the car by 1.1 inch in front and .9 inches in the rear for an attractive but reasonable drop. The M3 springs are a bit more conservative, with a 268 lbs/inch front rate, a 715 lbs/inch rear rate, and a 1 inch drop in front and .4 inch drop in the rear.

This is only for the M4, correct? I thought the M3's drop spring rates were to be slightly less aggressive.

There's an inbound shipment from Japan now- I'm waiting for confirmation of ETA. I hope to have a good ETA in hand this week.

At this point, I'm excited to have confirmed spring rates and drops! These springs have been in the pipeline for so long that I'm happy to have accurate data on those base attributes in hand.

Crazy that the M3 has been out so much longer than the RCF but yet both springs are coming out at the same time.

I'm assuming going with m4 springs on an m3 is OK if you wanted then more aggressive rates and drop?

For people familiar the rear spring seems to increase quite a bit, what kind of increase to the stiffness should we expect.

Also Ilia PM me with a price and when these are available and if we can pre order them.

Thanks!

I'm torn between these and the Eibach US spec. The Eibachs seem more NJ road friendly with the drop but I'm not sure lol

These springs should feel as nice as lowering springs can, given the base restrictions of using a lowering spring instead of a matched spring and damper (full coilover) setup.

It's possible, but someone would have to give it a shot and see how that combination feels on an M3.

Swift's shipment is inbound now. I should have a specific ETA this week, and will make an announcement at that time.

The increase in spring rate is relatively proportional. I believe the increased rate is within the OE damper's capacity to control, and shouldn't pose any issues. I'll shoot you a PM!

The Swift drop is relatively mild as well, I think. Most of our clients that are using a full coilover are going substantially lower than 1" in front, but this is also a matter of taste, of course.
