Driving experience with Non-EDC?

Now that folks are getting experience behind the wheel. Has anyone driven a car without EDC? There was a review of the 4-door which blasted it as a "base suspension." There was something about it being rather ?bouncy?

My car is being assembled as we speak. In the event the non-EDC is crap, I would like to change it. Then again, I am sure there will be some aftermarket mods to correct any deficiencies? Thoughts?

Thanks!

You can tune your non-EDC suspension however you like if you feel the need after you drive it around for some time. The real questions are:

1. Do you want the option of having active suspension? (EDC has 1 passive and 2 active modes)
2. Do you want the option of being able to adjust damper settings on the go?

If you say both to no, then don't get EDC.

Thanks for the help!

The answer is no and no. I just didn't want something that wasn't up to the task.

BMW will not deliver a poor suspension setup on a M car; they are very good at suspension design. However, personal preferences differ. So, when you get your non-EDC car, if you decide you want something different, it won't be a problem tuning it to whatever it is that you want given you are saying no and no to the above.

I m not going to order the edc.

As i was told, its just a good choise if you want a comfortable car ( and i dont mind comfort very much).
Otherwise, if you īd like to change your suspension etc after sales, you may buy some components for your undercarriage, they are not pretty expansiv.

Another fear I had was with EDC on most of the cars, there wouldn't be products created for the M. Hopefully items fitting the 335 would also work with this car?

I dont think so.

M changed most components on the car ( about 94% ?). Therefor it ll be very difficult to use 335 parts on your m3.

but dont mind that, i guess there ll be a sufficient supply of components for the m3.
