I love my M3 but...
I am thinking I need a change. This is not a poll or a vote but... what would you folks go for, a new M2 or a very low mileage 1M Coupe. I love the 1M and the M2 looks incredible. Either one would work nicely for my needs.

To address the "what would you folks go for" as if it were I making the move, I would say "something other than a new BMW these days". Frankly, ten years ago I never imagined such a thought would be anywhere in the future, but how BMW has changed.

I think it depends on WHY you feel the need to change, then we can tell you where to go

+10......it's been 16 years of nothing but BMW's for me and I never thought I would be sooooo ready to jump ship. Planning to keep the E92 but my next move will be a P-Car..........Phil

Do you want something more hardcore like a lotus or more well rounded say like a 911?
Btw I always liked the boxster spyder, if you like p cars that would be a fun car imo. I would go for the 1M, it's rarer and will keep its value. We still don't know much about the m2 so I can't say much about it, but from a spy video I think it has pretty good exhaust sound Last edited by david1504; 07-11-2015 at 09:59 AM.. |

Yep
as I have said before and I say again........the F cars look like fancy Japanese cars to me.... E90 and E60 for all of their Problems, are the last true M cars. Keeping my E90, and not buying anything else BMW unless its an older model |

Don't change just to change; make sure to get into a car you actually prefer for one reason or another. Cayman GTS... or GT4?

It's natural to be curious of other cars out there and life is too short to be just driving one car. But at the same time, chances are you will miss the e9x M3 if you sell it so keep the M3 and buy something else to play with. Best of both worlds.

Depends why. I had a 2011 out of warranty, bought a loaded 2014 235i six speed. Within 4 months I knew this was not the car for me, bought a cpo 2012 M3. However, bucket list item for me is Euro Delivery, so I too am looking at the M2 for purchase in late 2016. 1m is a great car but collectability has driven price sky high. If you like that style, by a creampuff 135is, add a tune, cai, downpipe, xpipe, coilovers and lightweight wheels and it will keep up with any stock 1m and cost less than 30k total.
