How good is the Active suspension as far as rebound?

I obviously know the adaptive is better to fine tune the quality of ride, but I'm more interested in how it does as far as body/chassis control and firmness of rebound.

My last car was an Audi TTRS with the magnetic suspension and honestly it had every bit the performance of a true coil-over (san height adjustability) as far as chassis/rear body control and crisp/quick, but controlled rebound, and NO floatiness what so ever , just like a full coil-over set up.

Are the adaptive shocks on the M3 that good?

I have not driven a TTS. But typically Magneride cars are over controlled in rebound and can be quite jerky. The M3 does a really good job of providing smooth body control so the car stays balanced and flat while not being jerky. It's very well tuned.

Averages about eight a game. Not bad at all!

Is there any unsettlness when the suspension is loaded up and it gets unset mid-corner?

My M3 is feeling good at VIR thus far. It takes the curbing well in the corners. Doesn't feel unsettled, no crazy hops

It handles bumps pretty well. I have not had any issue with the car becoming unsettled in a corner.

Thanks for the info.

I had an 07' 335i that I added KWV2 to and it was amazing.

Then I got an 08' M3, and while it was pretty good, wasn't as controlled or confidence inspiring as the KWV2's were.

The Magnetic shocks on the TTRS were the best factory shocks I have ever had on a car. You just could not unsettle them in any circumstances. The car felt planted 100% of the time no matter what the road threw at them.

I'm not sure how much the adaptive shocks on the M3 have changed since 2008.

The system on the F80 is similar to the E92, but with improved capability for response time and damping. It is more capable than the passive shocks, and more capable than the E92. However, it will not match an aftermarket coilover in terms of ultimate body control under all conditions.

I really appreciate your comments.

I take it based on your screen name and reading some of your past posts that you have a lot of knowledge and track time with these adaptive shocks.
