help...leakage issue

Help. Just got home from a quick drive and noticed a small stream of fluid after i backed into the driveway.

Looks like I'm leaking oil. Can anyone confirm based on the photos?

Problem is I wont be able to take it into a shop until the weekend. Hopefully it doesnt drain competely before then. Either way i have two extra liters sitting my garage.
This is worrisome.
But may explain why i got the low oil indicator a few weeks ago. I just had it topped off at the dealer week and a half ago

Are you sure it is oil?

Check valve cover gaskets, and oil pan. If you can, jack it up and take the undershield off, that will give you some more room to look where it is coming from.

I dont have a jack handy. But when i touch the fluid it feels oily. No particular odor. Pretty clear. Collant typically has a particular smell and has a greenish bluish tint. Right?

Hot day today? Was your AC working full time?

Looks like water to me. The oily stuff is probably residue from the undershield mixed with water.

Thanks for the input. I hope you guys are right. I'll give it another drive tomorrow after work but with the A/C off to make sure.

AC condensation for sure, if that was oil, something would've blown up already.

Probably water. If that was your transmission and it was leaking that much, LOL. What does it smell like? Does it smell like the air right before a thunderstorm (water)? Oil from a DCT for instance smells really minerally.

It wouldn't be M3post without at least one rod bearing comment!!

I hope for the OP's sake it is water. My car leaks a ton of water and I can hear it pissing out at the end of the day when it's in my garage.

It such an odd place for AC water to come out from. On my old e90 325 the rubber hose was towards the rear passenger side. Far enough away that i wouldnt have confused it with an engine leak

Looks like water. Move car out of the way in neutral and see what it is. If it is black and thicker then maybe oil. If it is black and thin maybe tranny fluid. If somewhat clear and taste sweet it could be coolant. If clear and taste like your finger it is probably water.

...and if you start feeling sick after "tasting" the drippings it was A/C condensation with a touch of Legionnaires' disease.

Too thin to be oil. Coolant or condensation

If the stain remains I'd worry. If it evaporates, it's water
