Rear Entertainment Question

I posted this on the coding thread with no luck but I thought it might get additional responses here in case this isn't a coding issue...and its me.

Has anyone tried successfully to get a DVD to play on the Nav screen and rear screens simultaneously? I have video in motion coded and can play a movie in the front using the in dash player but the rear screens don't seem to be able to use the front cd/DVD slot as a source. The Nav screen also doesn't appear to be able to play anything that's in the rear cd/DVD player, even though sound will play through the speakers.

It's the factory system.

doubt it, unless you buy a separate adapter to link the dvd player video output to the navi. I don't think the units video are connected in anyway

Yes, I think it only works when you retrofit rear system with "non-official" BMW modules...

I thought the 7 series F02 RES was same as x5?

Do you have the 6 DVD changer?

No. I believe the 7 series has a changer in the glove box that comes with the rear entertainment and I've heard this setup will allow you to play what is going to the rear monitors on the Nav (I have not personally tried this but people on the F10 forums have the same setup and they can get it to work too). The X5 has a single slot in the center arm rest below the rear climate controls which is accessible by the rear passengers.
